Good idea, I sometimes over complicate things. I made one for a gift using foam board reinforced with fiberglass and resin to stiffen it and waterproof it. A hole for a film canister and some magnets to secure the pallet. The recipient is traveling so it might be a while before I hear how it works. I'll probably make one for myself after more research.

Wow Thankyou for some beautiful coastal memories, I certainly remember the first sight of the sea stack rock formations! So beautiful to this landlocked prairie girl! (Ok no longer a girl) My husband and I took a road trip from Saskatchewan down through western Montana, Idaho, Nevada, over to California coast and up through Oregon and back to Saskatchewan via Alberta. One of my first acrylic landscapes was a coastal scene. A few years ago but still a favorite memory. The redwoods left me speechless and humbled! ☺️ I enjoyed seeing your lovely plein air paintings.

I'm only after creating the same thing. I looked at the different easels, Stablo and so on, but none would've fitted my art bag. So I went got the materials, my jigsaw and made one to fit myself. Only finished it two days ago and can't wait to try it out. Unfortunately we have a heatwave in Spain at the moment and going out is limited. Greetings 💁

I really like what you said about watercolor not being flat like other mediums. I agree and love watercolor for that reason. One of my sons lives in Aurora, Oregon and works in Salem. Small world. Beautiful painting!

I can see that you were choosing colors from Holbein, but to ensure clean mixtures, instead of red a better choice would be magenta or quinacridone rose. That would ensure nice purples and bright oranges. Yellow is nice but I am not sure about the blue color. Cerulean blue would be a good choice as well. That would ensure clean greens. I chose colors like that for oil painting and I was able to paint portraits with nature background with just 3 colors plus white. Nonetheless hope you liked what you bought and had a great experience with them.

So relaxing! A great subject, I plan to give them a try.
