First time trialled in 1993/4. Has some elements I would not use now in a dance I devised such as half reels of three, but a nice historical document.

Written for my wife long ago. This was my first dance I wrote. This is the final version at Kristin's 50th. The band is Peter Elmes, John Smith, Lynne Scott, Carlton Downey, and maybe others. Video by Joanne Ang, and converted to mp4 by John Patterson. This was recorded at the Johnsonville Club. The tune is Gillian McMullin of Cambridge.

Buttermilk Falls

Buttermilk Falls is a beautiful series of waterfalls in Ithaca. I seem to remember the elements of the dance were inspired by the shapes in the water. This was danced in Tawa in 1993, here for the first time. It does have elements I would no longer put in dances. Resurrected from VHS by John Patterson. Music by Peter Elmes.

Excellent and a treat to see it danced traditionally by a male set, in accordance with its historic origins. And that’s said even though, as a female I love to dance it too! Very well done gents!

All right, the picture quality might not be top notch, but the dancing certainly is. Thank you for resurrecting the tape!
