I think I would just use hot glue to make the mold. Its flexible enough and can be remelted with cloth iron or hot air gun, in rolled up wax paper back into glue sticks

This is Vaseline, oil and acrylic. Color helps me know I'm close to the copy as I break the mold

Curious..I repair furniture..Many tables have those claw feet gripping a ball, usually wood and half is missing. I was thinking of casting another foot and use that to slice off a chunk to match the missing part. May use that smooth concrete. Using plaster as the mold, what is best to put on the wood so plaster doesn't adhere to the wood?
