I don't necessarily disagree. I really wish the hobby was just about the card and that the condition didn't matter so much. It's wild to me that the exact same card with a minor flaw will sell for $100, but in a PSA 10 will go for $400

The true highs are when both collectors and flippers are in the market after the same player / cards. Prices correct when either collectors or flippers are exiting the market. Prices crashed when both exit the market. It's also why you see retired players have drops in their values because all the flippers exit their market. Really hard to flip a retired player, so after retirement prices cool way down.

@@midnite1235 hmmm that’s tough to say for sure. Joel Embiid Prizm PSA 10 is very low right now. I could see that going up. With only $100 probably the best move would be to scour the value boxes and find $3-4 cards that are only $1 and flip your way up to $500, then work on grading cards. But if you are looking for one card… I’d maybe try Strouds Prizm Psa 10. You can get it for around $100 and even though there is no gaurentee it goes up, end of the year is playoff time and if Texans are in the playoff mix, or especially is they have a high seed you could expect that to be going for $140-$180. But that’s a long time to wait for that return, so I’d focus on undervalued value box finds for now

@@midnite1235 ohhh I see. Yeah $100 is a great price range. I’d say Joel Embiid Prizm is a buy, I can’t see it getting much lower, and sixers added PG in off season so they are contenders. CJ stroud prizm even though I don’t like buying football this time of year I like the price right now. September seems like a tough month to buy in general, everything is kind of high, but there are little opportunities here and there.

Yeah the gem rate is based on prior grades of that card. For example let's say 1,000 copies of a card were sent to PSA, and 520 of them came back a PSA 10, then that card would have a 52% gem rates. It's less about what I think it will get, but more looking at historical data.

I’d say that $15/card is def a good price for grading through PSA, especially when someone else is doing it for you and you’re not doing it directly, for sure. He probably isn’t making anything off of you.. aside from your cards that he keeps and says are his 😂

Yeah I tried to give some good reasoning as to why it can make sense to use SGC. TBH if price were no issue, SGC slabs look far better in my opinion. Red label doesn't look good with all cards. Black is complementary is anything.

@@robinmndi243 yeah sadly the area we were in didn’t have camera coverage. It was at a baseball field. I wonder if the theft knew that because me and the tables near me got knicked but I went around and asked doesn’t seem like anyone else was

It kinda depends. Higher pop cards obviously means there is a higher supply, but sometimes that can be good because there are many comps available. When having a low pop card, it could only take one bad comp to really hurt the value of the card. It could then be months before there is another comp

Ah that's so frustrating!! Yeah it's a sad reality. It's getting harder and harder too to find these high end cards in good condition raw out in the open market. More and more people are grading their cards

Yeah I can understand that. For me though, the flipping is the hobby. That's the fun part. That's what I like about it. I do have some cards that are in my PC though that I really like.

Great questions. A lot to consider here. First off, you are not the only person predicting Caleb williams performance spike. In fact, his cards are already really expensive because so many people have this same kind of plan. What I recommend you do is wait. Be patient. Wait for the hype to die down. His NFL cards start coming out with Panini Certified in September, and there will be other releases yet to be announced. Doing this is the safer route for sure but it avoids some risk. In general, right now everyone is thinking about Caleb Williams. Wait until no one is thinking about Caleb Williams. That's the best time to buy

Just keep track of what you are spending! Make sure you are 100% comfortable with the financial input and it's a great time.

Yeah I think that's a totally fair criticism. I don't script the videos so I was just riffing off the top of my head but yeah I could have used a better example. Lamar is insanely good. But the point I was trying to make was if Lamar was on an 8-9 team even with the same individual performance, that would affect his prices. Whereas a not as good QB on a 13-4 team would see price increase.
