While it is private, they do open the tee sheet in April and throughout the year they will have events in which the public can play. Also, there membership is eager to bring out guests for a very reasonable guest fee…so the trick really is get out and about in the golf world and you will run into an OB memeber and then just be super nice 🤭🤭🤭

they always offer options before Masters week and if you look periodically throughout the year, they'll offer public tee time availability periodically and just ask for donations to their charities.

It is the real deal - conditions were immaculate and just tons of fun with some reallllly high level green complexes. It’s as good if not better than all the $300-$500 public courses, and you get it for a third or fourth of the price. Definitely a must do!

I’d say 2 it’s birdiable - but it’s far from easy…see a lot of score variance there…at least when the greens are remotely firm.

2 is absolutely a birdie hole… most days its damn near driveable.

@@dmod1557define birdie hole? Because it’s short it’s easy? I guarantee that hole eats most 8+ hcps alive. At least when we played the green was extremely firm and it was rejecting balls everywhere…its not one of the harder holes, but it really is misleading in difficulty if you look at the distance.

There are some that truly special, and if you have the means you don’t feel wasteful/ashamed when leaving…then there are others where you feel like a moron 🥬🥬🥬

I paid more than that for the Old Course this past July and it was worth every penny(pound). If you want bargains for epic golf, look up Dream Golf(Bandon and Sand Valley). They are pricey, but for $2k you will play 4-5 courses and have lodging for 4 nights.

@@theheez6201 yeah we have dropped plenty lf big $ at golf destinations…the top tier ones you never think twice about the bill after! and yes, we are huge dream golf guys…we have done bandon twice and just did sand valley…come get PLUG’d we have tons of SV content about to drop!

We have a full pod with hole by hole videos/pics and a full property review - this is one of our team memebers perspectives…but, I will say lumping all high priced public golf courses as the same because they are 300-600$ is way off…plenty of them with sticker shock and you leave and never worry about the $ spent. Confident in saying EH is not one of them…

So if you play for free you have to give fake glowing reviews like everyone else? Btw - we have a lot of positive EH content, but we support our teams diverse takes…we salty for a lot of reasons, being paid for reviews isn’t one of em 🥬🥬🥬

Yeah we get it - this was a pretty tough takedown from our own Mr Golfberg - but I think the core of the message was relative value. If you are going to be at these price points you are going to be compared the elite of the elite…came up short in that comparison for us. However, a couple of our group really did like it and the property is pretty awesome…but can’t look past the price tag for what you’re getting.

I hope you gleaned a lot from the breakdown - 4 different perspectives and overall a fair rundown of all things EH - the caddie part I get probably struck a nerve being a caddie…I’ll say this, 100% agree you have to have a caddie and it certainly would have impacted the round. Our experience however, in traveling to a lot of higher end destinations, the caddies more often than not have been at best a coin flip. So we agreed this go around that we would raw dog it…bad course to do it on!!! We enjoy walking so the cart discourse was in jest, but I do think it’s fair to criticism to say is having a caddie as a must a “good thing”? Could argue either way…but the idea of saving 8-10 strokes may apply to normal clientel, but not to sound like a d*ck but 2 of our group are plus plus plus handicaps and the other is a low single and a high single…3 of us shot our hcps, 1 did not (probably can figure out which one didn’t hahaha!) - Lastly, thanks for checking out the pod…we are aiming to brining a truly immersive experience to all the places we go and to provide insight as folks that have been doing this a long time and balancing work/life/wives/kids…shoot us a DM on IG or something so I can get your info, I’d love to secure an ELITE caddie for my next EH visit 🥬
