i've been going here since i was 5. (i'm 59) i had a conversation with a guy there who was an enginere at an ealier time,,,, older guy, long white beard,,, was soooo funny to talk with. He said, he took out one of the open cars, and had it up to around 70 mph. I believed him, llol. A true yankee, as i am, lol. that was many years ago. i have to get up there again.

As a devoted railfan to Conway Scenic, I never got the shot through the trees before.

OMG … I use to sell newspapers at Lechmere Station as people got off the train at supper time. I was born in Cambridge and went to school there until the 7th grade. That house you see when the train stops at the station .. it looks blue or gray … I lived there as a kid on the 2nd floor … that is Gore St. and before that we lived right around the corner on 2nd Street. Over that stockade fence was the neighborhood I grew up in. We use to throw snowballs over the fence at the trains as the did the loop turn around. My Mom worked at Durrands candy factory which is the building across the street from where people got on the train to go into Boston. Lived in that area from 1955 to 1966. Thanks for the trip down memory lane 👍🏻
