In this episode I do a quick review of the cheapest chicken plucker I could find. I purchased it at Lowes for $299. So far I would recommend it for a small operation but we will see how it does after a few uses. I only did 5 birds my first time 2 of which were bantams so it really hasn't stood the true test of time. www.lowes.com/pd/Sportsman-Series-Stainless-Steel-3-4-HP-Electric-Chicken-Feath...

      I started with hatchery birds my first year and they were ok but then I did some research and found a breeder a couple hours away so I went there and started over. The “Oregon Delawares” genetics are much better quality of birds. They produce larger birds for meat and they look prettier too!

      They definitely keep their prime genetics to themselves and pass on the lower end birds. If you want to get serious about it check out bred to perfection on TH-cam. He has a lot of good information on breeding and genetics if you choose to make your own strain of whatever chicken breed you choose. Unfortunately 2 weeks ago I lost all but 2 so I will have to start over next year.

    I have a 2600 gas runs good until it gets really hot and worked hard . It would die, let it sit and it would run fine. Chased my tail with ignition,and fuel system and was at a total loss. Was reading thru the original owners manual where it talked about fuel storage on the farm. The last sentence of that section said don't run " winter grade gas in the summer, because it may cause a vapor lock .. I had been using 93 octane because it was the only non-ethonal fuel available in my area. Ding ding ding. Refueled with 87 octane and it's never done it again. Simple fix, easy to overlook......

    Problem is the 590 doesn't come with a 27" bar, and the 620 does have that option. So if you want bigger from the start you're going to have to buy the bigger bar and chain afterwards with the 590, while the 620 can be bought with the 20, 24, and 27 equipped. It's very weird to me that Echo complicates things and offers these in different configurations, with slight price differences that make no sense. The transition seasons can be a struggle you have to pick one or the other because you can’t cool the 180 degree water so I’ll usually just leave the boiler on and open the windows to cool the house instead of the ac then when it starts to warm up at night I’ll stop using my boiler for the year.

      I do still love them. These Delawares I have go back to the Oregon Delawares and they’re much larger than the hatchery ones I bought the prior year. I currently have 2 roosters, one over 5 hens and one over 4 hens. I used the feed with both Cornish cross and the Delawares. The Cornish cross I plan to use this method with this coming year. If I do it again with the Delawares I would like to have a control group and a regular group to see if it impacted their egg production. I didn’t get my first Delaware egg until 30 weeks. I hatched 2 batches of Delawares just over a month apart and granted now it’s starting to get to the temperature drop but I am just getting the second Delaware group to lay now.(3 eggs out of 5 hens). You can see when this video was posted on an approximate time frame. They are very gentle. The hatchery rooster I had did get aggressive with my children however so far so good with the 2 I have now.

    Looks like a good job and a lot of work. Guessing you have gotten water into the PVC thru the joints somewhere to be at 8-10 degrees of heat loss. This method can work but would need to try and grade the PVC so that it has a bit of fall and then a way to remove any water that gets in and collects at the low end. Such as having a tee at the end leading to day light. You could plug the end with a screen to prevent critters getting in, and block that section of the pipe with a spongy or heavy mesh material to limit airflow from exterior and also let water escape.

    Always hold the fitting in your right hand and teflon tape in your left. They you get it on the right direction. Think, it has to wrap onto the fitting so that it doesn't bunch up when installing. And start one thread back from the end to keep the tape out of the hydraulic system. I actually came here to see what valve you sourced, and from where?

    My 3600 diesel went dead on me yesterday after an hour of tilling. Let it sit overnight, and still wont start, opened valve on the bottom of fuel filter, seemed to be flowing pretty good from there. tried bleeding the lines while turning engine over, with no luck ...

    How do you handle corners? When the fence makes a ninety degree turn?

    • @southernyankeeinnovations
      @southernyankeeinnovations ปีที่แล้ว

      My quick and easy answer would be 2 fence posts and having them really close but not connected. If I think of something throughout the day I’ll let you know

    Nice Video. Forgive my ignorance, but how did you attached the first vertical board to the t-post? Did you drill a hole through the metal stake, then screw the board into the stake at that hole? I noticed a comment about using 'self tappers' to secure the face board. Also, at one point did you point the drill at your own chest to get the screw through the metal?

    • @southernyankeeinnovations
      @southernyankeeinnovations ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes sir. I used self tappers that you use to secure trailer decking. They’re designed to go through metal and wood. Just one on top and then when I screw the boards down the side and put the board on the back it works like a clamp. It works best to have a hand to apply pressure to the backside of the post. They do bend as your pressing against them to get the screw started. You need to have the screw start near the side of the T-post and not in the middle(less metal).

    Thanks for this video.I especially like the low key narration, well done. I have been running the CS 590 for a year now and here is my humble opinion. It runs the 20 in ,24 in bar great. I have the echo recommended 27 in bar and chain combination for the CS590 and it has come in handy on bigger trees. If you are going to be needing a 27 in bar on a regular basis ( even residential) Id go to the 620. For me I only need the 27 a couple of times a year and I always get it sharpened after a days use and it runs fine so I am happy with the 590. I keep a 24 in bar on it 90% of the time and it’s great, once you learn the trick to starting this saw.

      Thank you very much for the comment! Im fortunate enough now that I don’t need to use a 27” bar but good to know it’ll do it if I need it. I’ve had my eyes on the big boy saw echo has but just can’t justify it.

      It’s a very frustrating process. I handed a wiring diagram to the hvac guy that installed my units when we built and he just shrugged and said he didn’t know how to do it. Let me try and look at it later and see if I can figure anything out for tiu

      @@southernyankeeinnovations Thank you. I do know that I had my ranco set oh H1, not sure if that has something to do with it. As far as the yellow wire, I tied into the yellow going out to the outside unit coming off of #1 on the 24v coil. And the yellow wire coming off of existing thermostat and the yellow air handler wires I tied into #2 on the coil. I think that’s how the diagram explained it..maybe I misinterpreted.

    1/2 or 3/4 wrap, spur or rim sprocket, single or double buck spike, bars are easy to change. The carb can be swapped, but the main jet still has the buzz button which I change.all the mods voids the warranty but the quality is so good I don't need a warranty.
