HiDef: Rte. 53 Overpass 8-18-11
มุมมอง 83213 ปีที่แล้ว
Since the people who run Horseshoe Curve are not railfans, they think of the park as a job. And since it is their job, they dont open it until 10am and then kick you out somewhere around 5 or 6. After they closed up shop for the day, I still had plenty of light left in the day so I decided to sit at the Pennsylvania Rte. 53 overpass for the rest of the day. 23W Cresson, PA NS 8349 C40-8W NS 753...

As a result of a derailment on the Iowa Interstate Railroad, they began detouring trains over the BNSF to get to the IAIS connection at Colona, IL. One of these detours had the Rock Island Heritage unit leading. Thanks to a heads-up from my buddy Seth (trainmasterfm2), we were able to catch it at Alpha, IL just after the sun had gone below the horizon. The last few clips in this video are just ...

The wife and I got up early, went to Sheetz for some doughnuts and some snacks for the day with full intentions of spending the day at horseshoe curve. We were half way there when we remembered that it doesnt open until 10am. I guess thats what you get when you have regular everyday people without the slightest interest in trains running a railfan park. Oh well....anyway, we had to burn a coupl...
HiDef: Circus Train at Henderson, IL

On a gloomy day in August, my buddy Seth (trainmasterfm2) and I found ourselves in Henderson, IL on the BNSF Barstow sub waiting for the Barnum and Bailey Circus Train to show up. Using the back hatch of Seth's van as cover, we braved the cold rain to catch this rarity. The train came off the NS at Streator, IL (SXR) and was on its way to Moline, IL (MLN) to put on a show. Coming off the NS at ...

August 17th 2011 was day 3 of my Pennsylvania vacation. I started the day in Lilly, PA and spent most of the morning there. Unfortunately, the only trains to be seen were Amtrak and a couple of helper moves. I finally gave up and went to Johnstown to check out the area still no trains. So I went and got lunch at the City View Bar & Grill. This restaurant is located way up on the bluffs and prov...

After my morning visit to Cassandra, PA and some lunch, I decided to do a little exploring east of Altoona. The radio was very quiet except for all the roadway workers copying authorities. During the lull, I did manage to catch 1 westbound intermodal at Fostoria, PA. WB Intermodal Fostoria, PA NS 9840 C40-9W NS 8799 C40-9 NS 9352 C40-9W After I left Fostoria, I went to Tipton and Tyrone but unf...

The Cassandra Overlook was my first stop during my trip to Pennsylvania. The overlook is located on the west slope in Cassandra, PA. This is one of my favorite places to railfan in this area. Symbols and power are included below in the description and in the video. Ethan wants you to know that the train is all done
was this in 2009 or 2006
Imagine if every single heritage unit lead the longest train in america
Now that's a RARE catch!
IAIS Is a class 2
Even 13 years later this is still rare as hell and very impressive
See it it’s in nampa idaho
This was extremely rare. Would never happen in today’s world
too bad virtual railfan cam wasnt around back then
Enjoyed your video! When I worked for the IAIS in the 90’s, I worked the Bureau to Peoria job many times.

Alot of CSX power.
Our ancestors used to ring that bell...
What year is this
Great catch with UP 1989
Awesomeness, this has to be super rare, spectacular catch and fantastic shot!
When a Heritage Unit is the rescue engine...
Amtrack needs to make a SD70ACEP
I've seen 1988 pulling a Amtrak cascades a very long time ago
Now that’s what you call early years of BNSF! To bad it’s mostly gevos in h3 paint today but oh well times moves on
Well of course that's what you do when you're a bored locomotive. You just drive around like you're in train simulator or trainz, shunt or carry any consists and rolling stock of your choice, carry passengers if you want, or just pick up a consist and drive. Like Trainz always says: Where Will You Drive Today?
CSX engineer here, but the videos are fantastic interesting area that Cassandra slope, liked the ending with the helper moves.
Nice video
Its Rare Enough To see a Non-Amtrak Locomotive Lead a Train.... Having U.P. 1989 LEADING AN AMTRAK IS SUPER RARE!!! (The Only time to foam)
Probably the rarest train I've seen on TH-cam so far
Yeah
I love those B23'7s
long live the Santa Fe!
U EVER CATCH KCS AT JACKSONVILLE
THEY KEEP THE AMERICAN AND CANADA ECONOMY RUNNING DURING THE ICY COLD WINTER
AWESOME🚅
THANK YOU FOR YOUR VALUABLE TIME SPENT
love the k5la on the con rail engine
Wait a minute.... CSX 8781??!!?!?1 Thats a YN2 SD60M!!! Awesome catch :D
BNSF 5864 IS NOT AN ES44AC!!! It's just a Dash 9-40CW with an E-Bell and H3 Paint scheme. You will see those in your life sometimes.
+Rail Gamer Productions You might want to check your facts there. 5864 most definitely IS an ES44AC. Google it.
+atsf929 Uhhh no it is not. But 7514 is!
+Rail Gamer Productions Wrong again dude. 5864 is an ES44AC and 7514 is not. 7514 is an ES44DC. Do a little research. Look at some roster shots online or just Google BNSF's roster. And just to make sure I was right, I looked it up again after your first incorrect comment.
this weekend it is 70 to 80 degrees so my dad might take me down there this weekend since it is so nice :P
Nice. Do you plan on coming back to the Huntington area anytime soon?
Great videos Thanks for sharing.
I sure wish I was there to see that Rio Grande SD70ACE UP heritage unit lead that Amtrak California Zepher.
Same.
Gregory Gold I agree. How ever, this was my first heritage unit ever caught! I caught it about over a month ago.
Nice horn at 8:17! (LLPX GP38 #2017)
What a beautiful locomotive.
Thanks....I miss it too. At that time you really never knew what what's going to next. I'm glad I got to shoot it before it turned orange.
Great stuff Ryan!
That engineer on that tpw 3830 is nit SMOOTH
Great shot if the DRGW Heritage Unit and bad ass horn too. I have always wondered myself why Amtk uses dual power on short passenger trains. Surely they can't be that heavy?
wmg33 it's probably to start and stop quickly
I dont remember the exact model but it was a middle-of-the-road JVC mini DV camcorder. It has since died, but it was a great camera while I had it. It saw A LOT of trains. Thanks for watching...glad you liked it.
Wonderful footage. What kind of camera are you using to film this?
The Brickyard Crossing is one of the best kept secrets in all of Altoona
3:20, that's just not right..... lol
Those, are nice catches.
In my opinion , I think Amtrak needs SD70ACe's and ES44AC's! Phase 5 paint of course!
Alex Siebrasse those es44acs are probably ganna die very easy
NO GES GET YOUR HEAD CLEARED
@@WisconsinRailfan22 ok I did no GE’s
To my knowledge its mostly now a nighttime operation
emd power everywhere
