Let's correct the terms usually misused. OEM means Original Equipment Manufacturer. It means that it came from the appointed supplier for Mercedes. What you meant by saying OEM is REM, Replacement Equipment Manufacturer. The supplier for non-factory fitted parts.

My mechanic check out the sprocket & timing chain while changing top cover rubber gasket. Found the sprockets had worn off much more than yours. Paid the RM1200 labour charge for him lift out the engine to change timing chain, all 4 brackets, timing adjustor etc etc. With engine taken out noted than the right side engine mount rubber have a circular top crack but its fliud has yet to start leaking. Since will keeping my car for next 5 years will get it change - with no extra labour charge since the engine is already taken out. Add in a few extra jobs, and since engine is taken out, each job will be easier & bit cheaper. Engine lower half are surpisingly clean. Main cooling pathway are also very clean. Regards

Parts price as per King Hup Puchong cam gear RM2200 X2 ori / RM500 oem X2 .. So, what brand of oem cam gear u used?. . By the way, my mechanic recommended me to change oil pump chain together with timing chain. They link together & aged the same. There have been cases of engine catastrophic due to oil pump chain failure even though timing chain had been replaced new. So, have u change the oil pump chain together already?. Salam Haniff just wondering i know this is an old video but you changed your idler pulley and tensioner with Wan also?im contemplating of changing mine and on another note have you had any experience in servicing your supercharger(kompressor) i cant seem to find any information on that and would love if you would make a video out of it if you have experience with any workshop in doing so. Do not follow Mercedes oil change interval which is 12000kms change your engine oil every 5000km with full synthetic 5w40 for short trips. 7000kms if you do long trips but you must change your oil yearly the cheaper chinese camshaft for the kompressor m271 is apparently better than the original but i would have used the FEBI chain and tensioner. i know someone who has reached around 140000kms with the Chinese camshaft and febi chain and the camshaft still look like new but he did long trips and covered that mileage in 2years

There is a small sprocket down below the engine for the balancer shaft. How is it's condition?. How much in total, parts & labour, you had spent?. It would be good practice to cut & spread the old paper filter, at every oil change, to check for flakes of metal debris. What you have been doing for the past 3 years seems to be "rolling maintenance" - a phrase I just heard a month ago. Regards
