Hoes does water content change the amount of heat Flux or needed magma generation to produce mobile magma columns? Wouldn't areas w higher water content require less heat influx than say a dry system?

Very interesting! How long did it take those two employees to do the mag susc logging and how long to enter it all into a spreadsheet? What method was used for density measurements and were those values grain or bulk density values?

It is so sad for Morris‘ passing. He was one of the greatest geologists in South Africa and the world, and a great man in personality. I had been so lucky to work under and interact with him for the last 29 years in South Africa. I and my family send our condolences to the whole Viljoen family!
