5:46 заводские rca jumpers заменили? Рекомендую их убрать и заменить на качественные специальные rca jumpers! Звук сразу преобразуется в лучшую сторону!👍 Сам владелец AX10ai✊
Please be careful with the firewire (i-link) connections. They are not galvanically isolated and not protected against ESD and very easily damaged
Awesome review. How are the Triton one Rs compared to Beolab 5? May be another video comparing them?
Even bigger and heavier than my Marantz SR14! The SR14 had a similar remote, but I really hated that thing, and now I use the SR14 without remote. And only in stereo mode. But that Pioneer is a beauty to watch!
Hello. Thanks for your video. I have the same idea. Going to sell my Hi-End stuff and buy BL5. I use Wiim PRO from as digital source and it sounds very good for its price. The question is have you ever tried to do a "hard reset"(by pressing the touch field for more than 20 sec) of BLs in order to reset DSP calibration? Will BLs require a PIN code after this action? My seller of BL5 does not have a PIN code and says BLs are never asked for it. Looks like a dealer disabled the code during installation and setup. Hope for your answer.
I think the dsp will reset every time you start a new measurement
@@alpachlavi You are right but the DSP will be readjusted according to the new speaker position. During a "hard reset" the DSP should be reseted to the factory settings (I guess it has more "flat" response). I would like to have less DSP correction in the BLs as I can adjust frequency response in my digital source(more powerful DSP).
Aha, I understand. I will try!
I love the way you explain your experience with the BL5
Thank you 👍
you can tell it is an older AV receiver with all of those S-Video inputs.
Veri. S E X Y .Amplifier
I started my hifi journey with B&O in the early 80s. Hard to find B&O now in the US. What is the CD rack on your wall? Thanks
The rack is an acrylic construction. Handmade and built in the drywall. Luckily this is still possible and affordable in Greece
Thanks for the video. I learned something new
Thank you!
Cool!❤👌🤝👍
Years snorlax diver boo
Thank you! What does that mean?
Hi, and thanks for the posting. I want to tell you something. You Greeks always make prices at hi-fi vintage 5 times higher than the normal market. Out of curiosity, why are you doing this? The same device is between 850-1250 euros.
What price do you mean? And I am not Greek?
Thank you!
Worths nothing as all the surround sound modes in there are obsolete.
If you are open to learn you should read the other comments.
I have three of these Pioneer VSA-AX10Ai-s amps and one Pioneer VSA-AX 5i love them fire wire for sacd and dvd-196khz 24 bit sold my Roksan and all my cyrus amps never need anything else since 2005
That is a beautiful receiver I also have one that looks like this it's the Pioneer Elite vsx-53tx from 2003 it looks similar I bought mine brand new and I can tell you you're going to enjoy the one you have for many years to come
Most importantly, it has a direct input to the power amplifier of the front channels, for the highest quality stereo sound without unnecessary noise and distortion.
Its s dream item, wish to buy.
I had the VSXAX10aig which I think from memory an 8 Chanel receiver in gold colour. 32 kg beast. Great 7 channel stereo sound. No HDMI. I wish I still had mine. Very nice machine.
If I ever had the money to build a sound room or theater. I would build a custom wall cabnet with space behind so you could walk back there to hook up the mile long cables.
OMG, I couldn't even hook that up. I've never seen an amp that complicated. You need an PHd
That's too funny. Poor guy, left his son holding a 2 ton amp
😃
That's not fair. I had a Pioneer stereo back in the 1970s. But never an amp.
Sweet stereo wishing to hear it
❤ INDIA
😮🤔😧😳😬🙇🕵️Es casi un hallasgo Arqueologico😆🤯😲😮👌👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
it looks very well built
It is. 35 kg of heavy duty hifi
nothing tops the VSX-9700
Originally, Made In Japan. My still runninf beautifully Sony DA5200ES is not as good as the Pioneer but not far behind in terms of age.
would you sell it? I compare this experiences alike to find a closed, unexplored and ancient mommy in Egypt, a relic like a coffin found in an untouched cave there. _because to find a relic is more hard and rare each day_ and we know, a device new in a box is similar very rare and less common, in exctinction times, less audio systems day by day. You have found a treasure, I remember Eliaby Marques (here in youtube posted it) unboxing a new Sony Genezi. also I saw other man that received the information about an old and retained container in Brasil Border, with very new sealed boxes Sony Genezi. ! I felt the same "almost", when I found a classified sale, I got an open box "new" Kenwood HM-331, only it was open to test, model 1999, even the store documentation included!
Nice said, Antonio. Thank you! Yes, I am planing to sell it since I will change to an active speaker system. I just didn’t find the time to make a sales video.
Wow awesome womma see a video using it
waiting for!✊
to be continued???
Hopefully soon…
how do you find gems like this?
This was just luck with classifieds
I'v had that receiver. Big ass beast!
You can't lift 77 lbs?
Not as long my son is with me 😀
the meaning of thos video is? unboxing of nos or which else f*ck 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
On it’s best day 20yrs ago, it wouldn’t be worth $5K, maybe half that if you’re lucky🙈💩.
Interesting! How do you know? Did you own it?
i had more than 200 amps and i know VSA-AX10Ai was 5000 euro in europa. i had 2 of this models. most of them have dsp problems
Hi !!!! Great finding and my congrats !!! Anyway which brand and model is the amp at the left niche of your rack ?!? My best regards from Brazil !!!! ☺️☺️
This is a Teac AG-H550 which I use as a control amplifier together with an Denon POA T2. I bought them new 20 Years ago and always loved them
Congratulations! 👍 Ax10ai is the best choice when sound is important. This pure A/B Class amplifier has a better sound than the Pioneer SC-LX90 Susano amplifier. The sound of the new Pioneer amplifiers is far below its wonderful, dynamic voice of AX10ai. In this state, a real rare gemstone. These Japanese amplifiers are made from the best parts. Designed for long -term use. 10-20-30 years is not a problem.
Thank you very much, Sabre!!
i have had sc lx90, ax10, sc lx 86, 87, 88 and more not one was beter than the sc lx90. had them all denon avc a1xv, marantz sr14, onkyo tx nr5000e, 5007,5008, 5010, yamaha z11, z9, z7,. i had more than 200 amps, not 1 was beter and cleaner than sc lx90. the only one who was clos was the yamaha z9.
VSA-AX10Ai was not bad but almost all of them have dsp problems , some dont give sound anymore and some works only in stereo.
@@itsme007here I still have AX10ai and had no DSP problem. Before that, there was AX10, then AX10i and no DSP problem. I used these amplifiers for many years and are very reliable. His current AX10ai was cleaned and the capacitors were as if they were new. Factory values were measured. My current AX10ai amplifier has been working flawlessly for 20 years. The remote control is also 20 years old and has the original battery for several months. These AX10 amplifiers were built from the best quality parts available.
@@itsme007here LX90 Susano was for me 10 years ago. It was a disappointment after the AX10i. Unfortunately, the LX90 is no longer clean A/B and it is visible in its voice. For the LX90 amplifier, energy consumption and saving were an important consideration for the manufacturer and this led to deterioration of quality, as in other amplifiers, which was not pure grade A/B. At that time, hybrid and class D teknology were applied to audio amplifiers. Saving saving has become an important factor. Then I replaced the LX90 to the AX10ai amplifier, which was much nicer and more dynamically and I still enjoy it to this day. I wouldn't replace anything :)
Absolutely laughing 😃 😀 😄 😁
I have one playing im my bedroom. 😊
hi fi porn
I'm jealous!
The S-400 Fire Wire connectors are for SACD and DVD Audio w/ the appropriate player w/ the same type of connections. This is a digital audio interface (instead of using six channel analog input which was common @ the time) to make it easier to set-up and provide a more flexible bass management from within the AV Receiver (instead of the rudimentary bass management built into the players). Sony and Pioneer were the only brands that I believe adopted this system while Denon utilized Denon Link using standard ethernet cables.
Wasn’t anything special years ago. Decent build quality for its time but “vintage surround sound gear” sounds like crap compared to vintage stereo gear.
I think there are many people out there who just have fun and are happy with simply enjoyable stuff and keep away from obsessive discussions about the better, the best and the ultimative or the bad, the worst and the crap…
