For homeschoolers who are awarded PEP and need to notify the district superintendent of home education termination, are we suppose to notify the county that they are now under PEP program or we don't need to tell them?

I'm new to your channel and found your video searching for PEP info. Im disappointed at how condescending Crystal is. I really like Jason, and would watch him on the regular., As a lifelong homeschooler myself, I am course familiar with Brenda and so thankful for her. Her answers are helpful and its too bad that this Crystal shuts her down and talks over her when she is a bona fide expert. Not a good look. She doesn't need to re-explain everything that Brenda says.

My question is (and I didn't see it answered) if our students graduate and they are under PEP program, are they eligible for a High School diploma or similar, and can they graduate through programs like FPEA for the homeschool graduation.

Wow, this is wonderful! My son, Dylan, was homeschooled from middle school and went through the high school AmSkills' programs. He also attended their Boot Camp in July 2022. Dylan was hired in August 2022 at a manufacturing company in Oldsmar. As a mom, I am most grateful to AmSkills for the opportunities they provided to my son. Dylan has a great job, that he can make into a career, has no college debt and has full benefits. AmSkills is a blessing in our community! Thank you all for supporting home education.

In regards to when test scores must be submitted for PEP, does it matter when in the school year the testing was performed? For example I have scores from January, does this suffice the requirement to renew?

The same way you suggested a contest to show how PEP is working in homeschool families life, you should ask for videos of how it has impacted families and created a montage video of it to legislature.

I think the response to the school building the e-sports lab should have been more like this: "That e-sports lab is going to be a great experience for those public school kids. It's going to give them a chance to learn in a different way - team building, problem-solving, social skills in pressure situations, and more." We can save this as a great example for the next session, highlighting the benefits of learning outside of textbooks and classrooms, which is what homeschooling is about. You brought up the discussion of educational versus non-educational games. However, there really can be education in just about anything if you take the opportunity to teach during those teachable moments, also known as homeschooling.

Paul Renner is the Speaker? correct? Yes, our taxes pay for these electives in public school, but PEP children can't take these classes, even if they wanted to.

I can't believe Rep Valdez said that homeschooler parents could possibly be out buying cars when the children take driver's ed. She said that this is a reality. She's using unrealistic extremes to make a point and it's ridiculous and INSULTING. Does she actually believe the words that come out of her own mouth? Or, is it a "scare" tactic? Do they honestly believe that we will buy horses and cars? Come on Reps, use some common sense and find a happy medium and stop being so dramatic in your statements.

Valdez...we aren't going to buy cars! My goodness. Is she honestly trying to insult our intelligence? Again, they are SAYING extremes to scare people. If my child were in a public school., the system would be paying out $10K.
