    Looks like you will be doing this again in year. You need to put weather protection between inner and outer shell! Our class C was thrown together by Thor motorcouch company, had it for five and a half years and the roof rotted. Don't buy anything from Thor motorcouch company, fly by night throw together, no integrity! So good luck with your project.

    Why dont they use AdvanTech plywood its tongue and groove and uill last for 50 years and it seems the glue is not hilding and the putty they stick on the trim I have used it before and it dose not stick so great I use Black EPDM Coverstrip Seam Cover Tape, 5 in. wide and cut it down to the size needed once you put that on your gunna play hell getting it off so befor you roll out your rool put it around all the openings and under the frunf cap to hold the frunt of the rool then use your tubes of self leveling roof and put the cap back on or use a rool one peace as long as the bus of aluminum roofing and dont be stingy with the glue then build mold's of thr roof after you lay the roof put the mold down on it and put pressure down on it all 4 corners do the hole roof let it relly bake and cure in for 24 hours then put all your trim back on.But if you can pull it off that so eazy what is wind going to do at 70 mph with a head wing of 40 mph going to do . you say that it only good for 10 years American companies use to build a hell of a lot better than that and they had good qulity and took pride in their work they built things to last 50 years . a lot of companies do noy even put under coating pickups trucks cost 70 to 100 thousand now prices are to high they have never helped Americand they raise then the cost of living gos up higher then the increas in wages becaus of the fed they could have left it at 5 bucks a hour as minimum wageand lowered the cost of living across the country so a person starting off could pay rent on a one room apartment gas and food on that wage and make people work and learn to get rasies but you pople are nut's or stupid you could put a flat tax on every item now they base things off someones credit ratting if they have bad credit they pay more you talk to about discrimination sorry about going on but I am sick of our government the communist democrats and the just going for the ride republicans letting our country go to the crapper

    Trailers are made with cheapest weakest wood. Why use OSB plywood?? You see what happens when moisture hits it ? Swells and molds. This was a waste of time and money. Real plywood 5/8 is heavy duty. Cost alot money that's why cheap people do it this way with OSB glue chips wood. . this new roof wood will be fine till roof leaks and the same will happen as before. When you renovate or rebuild , it is WISE to over build and make better than before. Other wise your just wase time really.

      doesn't EPDM last like 30 to 50 years though? What would you use instead?

    • @eddiespagetti8395
      @eddiespagetti8395 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mikegracia1475 if installed PROPERLY EPDM is great systym. Unfortunately people make mistakes with caulking and sealing around utilities on roof. It's the small stuff but it ends up being cause of water getting into RV. Seams and cut outs along the roof need to be sealed with proper compounds applied. I see many EPDM roofs that leak because someone got up there with caulking or roofing cement and make a mess really make it worse . EPDM is one of best systym for rv IF done properly and even at factory they install it all wrong

      @mikegracia1475 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@eddiespagetti8395 what would you use under the epdm rather than OSB? Marina ply perhaps? Will be doing a similar job myself soon, but will get a friend to help me (he's a builder by trade and has done epdm roofs a fair bit I think).

    • @eddiespagetti8395
      @eddiespagetti8395 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mikegracia1475 Thick plywood the thicker the better and that marine plywood is great to use. Costs triple the amount over particle OSB crap board is a joke. Rvs are so weak made so weak unless you customize it yourself with better wood which adds weight but still better than build with osb. People need to check RV scrap yards. See just how weak and poorly built rvs are

    • @NoizyFilmsCollier

      @@NoizyFilmsCollier Thanks....I currently have my toy hauler in the shop due to roof hail damage which led to water ingress and plywood separation. Now I am having a difficult time sourcing 4 x 10 plywood. I like the idea of OSB underlayment and glued lauan as a smooth layer before gluing the EPDM. I was originally thinking of using 3/8" ply but may have to do the 2 wood layer application. Would it make much difference if you used the Gorilla tape over all the screw strips ?
