You should include some permaculture water trapping designs into your farm's framework so you will be able to retain more water. There is a green wall being built across Africa using this method of water retention

Interesting to see how much work they could do in an hour. I wonder what is the cost of donkeys versus using a tractor/gas/etc. would be... it may take a bit longer but more sustainable since you don't have to import anything. Thanks for sharing and good luck with your farm!
