Kayaking on the Pend Oreille River is an amazing expereince. Islands to explore and have a picnic, camp, or just stop and swim. Lots of bird viewing opportunities with bald eagles, blue heron, geese, ducks, and an occasional pelican. Very scenic with beautiful vistas. A "must do" while visiting the area.
The kayaking is great fun - awesome & friendly service, beautiful sandy beaches for the kiddos to play on and gotta love not having to paddle upstream at the end & instead being picked up and shuttled back to your car - a favorite thing to do with our kids and our visitors in the summer.
