By doing that, you would have uncovered the second village, and would have been able to put your first rider on it on t1 instead of t2. Plus moving your second rider North East would mean you could step onto the ruin next turn as well. If the second rider didnt find a village, what you did would have been alright. 6:40 Leaving the ruins for the entire game was a massive blunder. That could have been a tech or stars or an explorer that totally changed the game in your favour. The later you get ruins the less effective they become. 8:39 Always build roads diagonally. If you'd built your roads diagonally instead of straight, you would have saved stars in connecting your other cities closer to his boarders. Also, you would have had more flexability with the giant you had just created, being able to move him 2 tiles/turn instead of 1. 8:53 You should have upgraded your c3 (that you'd just connected) with the farm. It would have been a free upgrade and gotten you an extra spt next turn. Not a big issue, but something always to be mindful of. 9:28 On dryland maps, villages can never spawn within 2 tiles of the map edge. They always spawn at least 3 tiles in. The warrior is still useful looking for ruins, but it will never find a village considering where that fog was 9:36 I don't get this road play. Ngl I feel like both players kinda misplayed their overall strategies. Xin-xi were too greedy considering they knew they were against Cymanti (not by much tbf, just should have made a couple more warriors) and Cymanti was way way way to passive lol. Their Shaman didn't use it's ability until like turn 13 I think lmao. Realistically, that Bu-yoxi city should have been Cymanti's on turn 5.

Impressive comeback! I would like to give my two cents about how your videos are paced though. Covering both your point of view and the enemy's point of view doesn't work for longer games like this imo. I would just cover your own point of view (with shared fog off as well) so then you can go more in depth while also not taking as long to get through the game. It would help a lot for making the video more engaging and informative for the viewers. You could go over things like certain micro decisions or misplays, or go in detail what your plan was at certain critical points in the game. You can even pause the replay every now and then to ask the viewers what they'd do in certain sections (to really build that engagement). There was a lot that could've been covered in this replay, but with the video being already over half an hour you just don't have enough time to go further then a surface level commentary if you aren't selective about what you cover. I hope you take the time to consider my feedback. I'm looking forward to the future of your channel. It looks like you put quite a lot of effort into your videos.

Just a quick note, most of the time you shouldn't spend money on tech you are not going to use that turn (with the exception of buying tech before a city capture). Saving the stars gives you flexibility. Love your vids tho

Catching up, but I had no idea there was a spider clan, and they are OP!

Also tip:as Xin xi you are what is considered an ‘expansionist tribe’, strengths being in scouting and early game takeover. Other tribes similar to Xin xi are oumaji. This also means you have a lot of cities early. Upgrade them to lvl3 asap and avoid explorer until maybe your third city. This allows you to get more economy and eco, and explorer is useless for expansionist tribes whose whole purpose is to explore early game.

I love Xin-xi, cause they have fast access to swordsmen which are great units(early eco still op tho)
