"The Family" was my most favorite sketch on the show. Glad it turned into Mama's Family later.

Carol and her mom were so poor when she was a child, that they would take ketchup packets home to make soup. How her life certainly changed.

I hope this doesn't offend anyone, but I have to say it. Lucy was funny. Carol is funnier! I say that because it came naturally to Carol. Lucy had to learn how to do comedy. I was always supposed to be asleep when this came on. The few times I saw it I would be dying of laughter. I remember the night this special aired. My wife and I were dealing with a death in my family right before the holidays, but for one night we were laughing uncontrollably.

Congratulations to Carol Burnett and the entire team! Excellence and brilliance like this will never be seen again. All of them had such class, style and beautiful kind of pizzazz and showbiz professionalism...!!!!....they are missed so much. And of course, their blend of humor was totally out of this world. Well done to all of them!!!

some trivia : Vicki Lawrence & Tim Conway had occassional appearances on the sitcom Yes Dear (2000-06) as parents of the main character Greg.. hilarious

Wow! What a great show she put on! I miss that kind of live improv humor. Her shoes were always so full of humor and joy. The bloopers were awesome too. Harvey Kidman could never hold character and they all enjoyed making him break down with laughter! Thanks for the memories
