ah it all makes sense now. the seattle scene was up and down with addiction problems. so when 1995 came knocking it was a great time for silverchair to enter. I think it’s good their parents went on tour with them til they were 18. even if it’s unheard of. I didn’t know at the time bc I was younger than them. they got their foot in the door without being overshadowed by the other bands. and then after frogstomp they grew and branched out their music. back then i didn’t understand why they were compared to grunge. they were just high school kids who got signed. boom legends were created
