Dengfu R01: Review with CT Analysis of Lightweight Road Frame
The Dengfu R01 is a lightweight road bike frame, optimized for climbing. Ready for rim breaks with a BB30 bottom bracket and supporting full internal cable routing, it is an ideal frame if you want a featherweight bike. The frame weighs below 900 g for a 58 cm (XL!) size and only costs 550 US$, thus outvalues frames from other brands such as Specialized, Trek, Canyon, Cannondale, BMC and Giant easily. Despite a corroded bolt for the water bottle cage, I never had any problems with this frame after well above 25k kilometers. The CT scan analysis revealed some voids at the mating regions where the tubes are connected to each other. From a structural point of view, there should not be any problem with that. The only downside are the voids in the bottom bracket area, which probably reduce the stiffness of the most important area of the bike significantly.

Carbon vs. Aluminium - New Lightcarbon Rim Break Wheels
มุมมอง 6032 ปีที่แล้ว
The Lightcarbon rim break wheels are aerodynamically optimized, having a 45mm deep rim profile and bladed CX-ray straightpull spokes from Sapim. I configured the wheels with DT Swiss 350S hubs which are durable, reliable and easy to maintain. For 700 USD, the total weight of around 1500g is very competitive and outvalues wheels of Roval, Bontrager, Zipp, HED and Mavic easily. The recently impro...

How Did The Hardtail Perform After 3 Months? - XC Bike Build (Ep.6)
มุมมอง 4.3K3 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video, I share my experiences with the different parts I used for my Chinese hardtail build. Not all parts worked flawlessly out of the box and one part even failed completely. This might be the main issue when buying cheap carbon parts from Aliexpress - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Fortunately, there is always a solution to fix a problem. Therefore, I'll demonstrate some h...

How To Precisely Cut Carbon Handlebars - XC Bike Build (Ep.3)
มุมมอง 7K3 ปีที่แล้ว
In this episode, we are looking at a Chinese carbon handlebar from a manufacturer called Airwolf. I also purchased my carbon hardtail frame from this manufacturer, you can check the video out here: th-cam.com/video/Nsdd-oQGYpg/w-d-xo.html We will measure the accuracy of the handlebar width and then cut the bar-stem combo to my desired width using custom made 3D printed cutting guides. You can d...
Should You Buy Chinese Carbon Wheels? - XC Bike Build (Ep.2)
มุมมอง 5K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Should you buy a carbon wheel made in China? The truth is, most carbon products are already made in China. So why bother and pay a premium for some fancy decals instead of buying from the factory? In this video, we will discuss the ordering process and customer support of the Lightcarbon wheels, unbox the package and discuss my choice of the components. In the end, we will take the carbon wheel...

Was this frame from SPcycle? /looks like the Specialized Epic copy to me. Soo. get a real Specialized frame from say, 2021 which will be this one I think, and do this to it for comparison
how much does that frame weight and the complete build weight please
What is the weight of the frame in Which size?
Can't you use legit hangers if it's just a copy of a known brand?
Weight on bike?
You could use aluminium foil (on roll) instead of paper
Love this serie D! 🤘🙏
would you recommend this frame for a 200Lb 6'4" rider?
I run a BXT frame and its good
ypu need to run 28psi in the rear
Built my gf a hardtail with this exact frame for bikepacking!! Its sweet to see the whole in depth breakdown. It is a really light frame and I like some features that it has to go from quick release to through axle. Probably upgrade the wheels eventually but all do due time.
Very informative, curious do you have a video like this with a more reputable frame brand? Would be curious how it compares!
Is it possible to take out the two 18650 batteries ?
Same question here. How to replace its?
I have just been looking at your Video very good and just wondering how the bike did or is doing on much longer term thanks
4:21 I thought that switch was intended for helmet mounting (so you can have the switch in a more convenient position eg the side of the head). I may be wrong 🙂 A small warning; you may want to keep an eye on this light while using it in Power Bank mode. I connected it to my phone a few days ago, threw both in a pocket in my rucksack and when I went back to check on it an hour later it was almost too hot to touch! I mean you could have held it for 5 seconds but not for 30 let's say. I haven't taken it apart yet so too early to tell if this is an electrical fault or just a sketchy design. Possibly a one-off fault as you wouldn't think a normal phone would overload two 18650 cells... but you may want to find a metal box to keep it in, is all I'm saying...
Thanks for your effort...I just bought an Airwolf Gravel Frame myself. Looks a bit rough around the edges, but still ok.
Thank you, that would be interesting if you could compare it with brand frames.
Hi, After more than a year, how's it going?
Does it got hot if you are using the 800 lumens? Thank you.
How it's right now? After your videos i had ordered this frame, and in nov 2022 i had made my bild, with bikeyoke divine dropper post, and etc. Right now i have had 1050km on it and i really enjoy this frame. My prev bikes were merida mission 2000 lrs 2008year and merida flx 5000 2007year. They were great for treir time, but modern bikes are really awsome - modern geometry, 29ers, boost hubs, 1x12 transmission, dropper post, carbon hardtails-softtails. Everuthing works on it.
I just used my powered jigsaw with a fine blade , took about 1 minute for both sides😁
👊😠👊🇧🇷 # NÃO MATA O PORTUGUÊS # .
Wow,good job, that's a really distinct way to show us how the quality of a carbon frame.Appreciate it dude.
I sincerely hope you can do more videos analyzing the carbon quality of different brands of lower-priced Chinese frames. This is such an insanely useful resource!
What was the itemized cost of your build did you disclose that?
Great work!
We share the same name and hobby👍👍
hi i was wondering if the handle bars held up ?
yes, so far they did not break. the paper around the steerer tube ist still there :)
How tall are you?
I‘m 193 cm
Press fit will damage the frame if the frame is low quality, threaded is more reliable and solid.
Color looks really WOW 😍
Well great video, I also can confirm that most of the Ali Express goods works. But there are some of them which come defective or totally wrong
The bike came up very nice. I also like to record when working something on my bike. You used very good componenst as I can see, DT hubs, XT crankset, shifter, brakes, mech and casette, Galfer rotors and it seems Garbaruk chainring. Really great looking bike. Just wondering why not setup tubeless system? What is it's weight in the end?
WOW you have some cool technology there. I suggest you to search fro Hambini on YT, he is one very interesting guy, aside his specific sense of humor ha is really good in measuring bike parts, frames and bottom brackets and very honest about that.
Hello there, I sam the exact handlebar on ebay for around 64USD, brand is Airwolf. So how is the quality of the handlebars?
The bar I got was quite bad. The tolerances were definitely not met, so proper clamping was not possible. Additionally, the top carbon layer pealed off due to the preload of the spacers. I currently don’t use it anymore but you might be lucky.
@@dbikeprod at least that I didn't expect, shame really, it looked very good and cool too.
Brill this. Strongly considering the Airwolf YFM-053 frame to build a race bike for this year. Has anyone bought this version?
You should have asked for a refund on the bar.
This wheels REALLY looks like the Velosa XC, i order a pair to mount on my Scott Spark RC '22. Thanks for sharing so much information. A big LIKE 👏👏👏
Would really really appreciate if you do this for the BXT-MTB-117 the Santa Cruz Bronson copy .
Any long term updates after riding on this wheelset for a year or so?
Did you have any difficulty using the post (ElitaOne) 30.8 instead of the 30.9 on the frame?
No, no problem at all, fits actually quite nicely
Hi, excellent build, thank you for sharing your experiences. Regarding the suspension used, which offset did you use? *My idea is to transfer the parts from the current MTB to this frame and my suspension is 51 Offset.
My fork has a 51 offset too
What is the weight of your build?
The bike weighs around 7.2 kg with everything attached. Regarding it's an XL frame with mostly affordable parts I'm quite happy with it.
I just ordered this same frame today. Seems to have decent reviews. Building with some high end components.. Industry 9 hubs, Sram xx1 derailleur, Sram carbon cranks, etc. Will see how it goes. This is a winter project.
Nice! I'm not disappointed, hope you won't be too..
Inspiring review 👍👍
Hi. Congrats !!! Great video. I loved it. How come you have a CT scanner at your service for looking into bike frames. Are you a medical imaging technician ? (and the medical clinic lends you the machine or what ?!?!? ).
Good question ;) But yes, there are some CT scanners where I work.
Thanks for sharing the assembling of your bike. Great painting job, and good video edition. On the flip side, I would have liked it you to explain why you do the things that do. That way the video would be more interesting that just seeing the procedure in a silent movie (yes, you put some music, much appreciated).
Your NDT approach is really the right way of thinking. Personally i would have scanned the bottom bracket area to run the analysis based on point clouds. This way you can run proper GD&T analysis on it for runout, concentrity and so on. The touch probe data does not give you enough form data. But since you are using a system from GOM this is pretty straight foward;-). What i would love to see is a direct comparison between a real brand frame and a good fake. Wouldn't that be fun?
Yes, indeed, these are good points! When I get a branded frame I will certainly compare it again and refine the measurement methodology.
Yeah, but that can only really do so much. There is nothing like getting back to basics. A good hand sledge can break that frame down enough so you can examine every individual piece. Guy's like you are always looking for the easy way out.
How are the wheels? Ride any good? Very little reviews online about them. Prices are much cheaper than some other chinese wheels.
So far, the wheels are perfectly fine. I only ride in the mountains and so far I don‘t see any damage on the breaking surface. They are also much more stable in crosswinds than I expected. Super happy with them!
I really like the scientific approach of this video! What do you do for a living?
Thanks! I‘m actually a scientist in a different field.. ;)
