    They also have a higher body temperature that other dogs and are often used like heating pads in cold weather. Originally in Mexico the were trained in packs to run after deer. They would run the deer to death by nipping at their heals until they fell to their death from exhaustion. Then the dogs owners would harvest the deer.

      @@skythinkeranimals Repeating something at the end of a video which was initially said 10 or more minutes earlier in the video is okay, but not in a 2-minute video like this one. And it should be re-worded a bit so as to not sound repetitive.

    Unfortunate that they went extinct, but did that do any genuine harm to humanity, other than a lack of a study subject for a handful of academics?

    • @skythinkeranimals
      @skythinkeranimals 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think the extinction of the Dodo bird had broader implications beyond the loss of a study subject for academics because obviously the extinction of a species can cause an imbalance in the ecosystem. The dodo's disappearance may seem insignificant but it represents the countless other species that have been lost due to human actions. The dodo's extinction highlights the need for humans to be more mindful of their impact on the natural world and to take action to conserve biodiversity; while the direct harm to humanity might not be apparent, the indirect effects through ecosystem disruption and loss of biodiversity are significant which means reserving biodiversity and preventing species extinction is crucial for maintaining healthy ecosystems and, by extension, human well-being. We really need to be more responsible stewards.

    When I got my fur baby, seven years ago, I had a horrible impression of the breed. Since he was a puppy I worked hard on socialization with people and other pets, trained basic obedience and treated him like a dog, not a toy. Today he is the goodest of all good boys. A perfect gentleman, very polite and sociable with everybody and very funny. It is true that he is specially attached to me, but he gets along well with everybody, and truly adores some of my family and friends. I think irresponsible owners give the chihuahua an undeserved bad name.

      I couldn't agree more! Bees are incredibly important pollinators, and beekeepers play a crucial role in maintaining their populations. By purchasing honey from local beekeepers, we are not only enjoying a delicious and nutritious product but also supporting their efforts to protect these essential insects. It's a truly win-win situation unless you follow veganism.

    • @skythinkeranimals
      @skythinkeranimals 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's a shame! Unfortunately, they went extinct in the late 17th century, so it's impossible to see one in the wild today. But don't let that discourage you from enjoying your trip to Mauritius! There are still many other amazing things to see and do on the island. You can go hiking or swimming in the beautiful natural surroundings, or visit one of the many historical and cultural attractions. Other intriguing and unusual wildlife species to view on the island are the Mauritius fruit bat, the Mauritius ornate day gecko, and the pink pigeon. You can definitely learn more about the dodo or other extinct creatures in Mauritius by visiting the Mauritius Natural History Museum. 😊

I can always pop the wee pup in my coat if things get a bit too much but from everyone I’ve spoken to they’ve said they will love having a good razz around the woods! oh yes absolutely as long as you tell the truth. But you have forgotten another myth 😉 and that is that foxes stink. Yes, it is true that the fox urine and especially the anal secretion smell really bad. but they have to. The anal secretion is only used when the fox is extremely stressed or when its life is in danger, as a defense, and they communicate with the urine. But the fox itself doesn't stink at all. on the contrary, it smells good. They are also extremely clean animals who spend more time grooming (each other) than cats. ✌@@skythinkeranimals
