Amazing therapist
Michaud is my maiden name. Funny, I used to pronounce it “Mi-Shod” (shod being the past participle of shoe); the rest of my large family still pronounces it that way. Neither my father, a French Canadian who spoke the language, nor my highschool French teachers, corrected me. It wasn’t until a college classmate from Quebec asked why I pronounced my nice French last name like that. Since then, I pronounce it the French way - “Me-show”. As I’ve done ancestry research, I can confirm what Hélène suggests in her comment below, Michaud is a derivative of Michel (the French form of Michael / sounds like Michelle). The first North American ancestor came from France in 1656 and (after a few moves) settled in Kamouraska, Quebec (and is considered one of the founding families). Most Michauds in Canada and the United States are his descendants. And since Kamouraska is about 50km/31miles from the northeast border of the state of Maine, you’re likely one of those descendants!

Sorry, don’t like this woman, but she got what she wanted…his money!
man lets do a reunion tour!!!
Don't judge your life on what you see on social media nobody posts the krap they are really going through, once I quit alcohol you realise everything else is a positive
❤ I love this I'm sorry you went through this but it is kind of my story also. I am doing the Sinclair method but I would like to know if there is any materials I can get to learn how to be able to love myself and let things go my counselor for addiction and mental health won't help me until I quit drinking. You had me order the SMART work book from Amazon. Thank you again I'm trying to learn as much as I can I have been in a bad place on and off😮 for decades😢
That rehab sounds terrible!
Thumbs Up 👍 and shared out.🖤🎃
Love EMN!! Great rock
Some pink tutu’s would go good with those pink shirts. 😂

If people are casually doing meth or heroine people call them meth heads or addicts. If people are casually doing Alcohol people perceive them as just having a good time yet alcohol is a more destructive drug than meth and Heroine. The social acceptance of alcohol makes it a complete out of control substance.
So I remember meeting Dave Flexer for the first time at the 7-11 across from Kirby High School after school back in 84 or 85, Hickory Hill Mempho TN (back in the good old days)... he had rolled up in his, I want to say it was a trans-am or a camaro, most likely a trans-am and I thought he was such a cool dude but anyway, I think he had his stereo playing some really cool guitar-based rock music and so we started talking music and guitar players because his reputation as a great guitarist was the buzz, somehow I knew who he was and that he was a great guitarist - Dave was like 18 or 19 at the time and was already well known as a kick-ass guitarist. He asked me if I ever heard of Paul Gilbert and RacerX, which I actually did become a fan of because of him but anyway, so I say to him, but have you ever heard of or seen Shawn Lane??? (I was bragging a little about Shawn being my uncle in-law) Yes, he said, but I've never seen him play. So I recommended that he check out Shawn. About a week later, Dave shows up again after school at the 7-11, comes up to me, drops to his knees, grabs both sides of his head and goes "OH MY GOD, SHAWN!!!" He was actually speechless, I'll never forget that. Years later, I would eventually audition to be in Dave's band Thrust, but unfortunately for me, I didn't get the gig. Still, I loved him and his band. (I went to school with the bass player Bill Little, worked at Mr. Pride car wash with both the drummer, Tracy Ruble and singer, Ty Crook). In fact, my audition was cut short because they had record label guys that came to see them at their practice room. I had my fingers crossed for them. This was at the same time another other friend of mine, Anthony Corder and his band, Tora Tora were about to be signed to a record deal which they did get signed but about a year later grunge came along and pretty much killed the scene. Shawn was very fond of Dave. Thanks, Just wanted to share that.
Upsrate NY viewing...
Great interview! Very interesting story.👍
I remember Black 59 practicing at an aviation parts place off the pike. Maybe my memory is just that terrible though. Him and Kim were on my radio show when i was in High School. Waaay back in the day. Classy dude then and seems like he has stayed just that grounded.
39 single full time dad of a 7 yo daughter also working full time in corporate and musician with very little support system but making the most of it. I agree 100% that we are not wired to be caretakers and it’s very challenging as it’s quite rare to find single full time dads out there but I’m glad these videos exist as it gives at least something to relate and feel that I’m not the only one in this
Great music history 👍
Stop clicking that pen. People in control of their habits don’t do that. It’s constant. Wound up tight
If I could go back in time I would not click the pen. Good on you for knowing what people with control of their habits don't do. Did you go to school for that? You should be very proud!!

Saw Tommy in late 80s with Degarmo & Key. Went to the concert just to see Tommy in his Mobster character but was blown away by his precision bass playing.
I saw Hit Squad at the New Daisy! And the band with Heath abd Jonathan was called Ritual. I had Chris and Cass on my radio show at Craigmont HS. My super small contribution to the Memphis music scene. Interviewing and playing the original songs of local acts was such a great way for me to be even a small part.
I loved the luv junkie demo, probably still have it and tug on cassette. These guys were great and super friendly. I borrow a wireless from Phil to play a thing at my high school. Thanks for bringing these guys to a potentially big audience. Maybe Teddy from Chosen one day?
😂
Didn't Keith teach guitar at Yarbroughs?
Nuclear Sunset!! We played pretty much every Saturday in the bass players detached garage. Love you Rob!!
And then😊
He was touched by God there’s just no doubt.
Nice video. Thanks for sharing a good video ❤❤❤❤
Jeff, what was the green tumbler you were drinking from at the beginning of the video? Looks exactly like my John Deere Yeti. We've both been binging on all the old Rythum Section shows and trying to keep up with the new ones. Be safe, hope to hear X soon.
I don't think Jeff ever did his homework.
It's just a tumbler with our Rhythm Section logo etched on it. Ive had some in the past we have sold.
Thoroughly enjoyed watching your show. ❤ Thank you.
Seemed impossible, but it’s been over 2 years and I don’t crave a drop of alcohol, the key difference was that I didn’t suffer withdrawal, not even within the first 30 days, just happened after go’ogling Steffon Barkloads Quit Drinking Forever and genuinely quitting because I was a mess.
😂😂😊
Now you guys understand why I think this Josheen is hilarious 😂
This was my life, I think it’s happening all over the country too.
We had a blast interviewing these guys!!! Thanks for the comments, and for watching/listening!!!
Pen clicks annoying 😑
I agree
Thank you so much for talking about the strategy of becoming the sober driver, and finding you don't need to stay and socialize. Great thoughts for me.
I remember them having a party to have singers try out, I went to try out. heard Rawleigh sing and told him you are the singer. wow great memory!
Thanks guy's. Be safe. See ya'll soon.
I usually try to get to sleep around 2am. after work. Now you guys are going to set me back another hour and a half! I hope Ward and you will show up at Neil's this Sunday afternoon. I'm already committed to this fund raiser. Please come by and enjoy some great music. Hate we missed Gen-X at Lafayette's, but we will see ya'll again soon. Be safe guys!!
man I hate I couldn't be there. We were in the studio recording until nearly 4PM and I was just too damn tired to do anything afterwords.
Great interview. I've been good friends with Rawleigh and Phil as well on the road crew with Play Rough as a roadie back in the early days in Ohio. As a musician I I have always admired their hard work. I also have many road stories. But those can wait until episode 2..lol
I graduated Morgan High School in Morgan County Ohio with Rawleigh Hartzell and if I remember Phil was just a year or two behind it's good to see that they are doing very well.
