1998 Subaru Forester 34r AGM deep cycle battery
Just wanted to show the different battery setup I have because they don’t make the style I want in the stock size battery.
This battery does a great job and I didn’t have any issues until I killed it over last winter where it drained for months while it was being worked on.
Regular size is 35 and this is a 34r which is a bit wider but still fits just fine.

Subaru Forester rock slider design overview
มุมมอง 4073 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video I’m sharing the way I made my rock sliders/nerf bars on my 1998 SF Subaru Forester. This method would work on almost any Subaru with the proper size aluminum angle and can likely be directly copied for SG, Gg, Gd and Gc chassis subarus. If you’re looking for an easy diy method that can protect your Subaru from rocks this is a video for you. This 1/4” thick aluminum only weighs 9.8...
Subaru cv axle rebuild with new silicone boots
มุมมอง 3.4K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Just wanted to make a video to share how the process of rebooting and repacking a Front Subaru Constant velocity axle. Many of those in the lifted Subaru community have had a lot of issues with cv axles and having boots tear because of the added stress of the lift, simply because the extra angle the axle has to work at causes more stress on the boot than normal. If you wanna see how to put new ...

Probably because I do 0 to show it off and I never make anything cause I don’t feel like I have time haha. I’d like to make more videos but it just slows down the work that much more

Great video! Just lifted my 08 Forester yesterday! And worried about the CV boot Drama wondering how they held up? Or know of an even better option!? Im lifted +1.25 in the front and +2.50 in the rear and hoping these boots you're using are something i can just do now an not stress out while im trying to enjoy the climb up in the mountains!

Thank you! I just had a boot tear and remembered Brian being happy with his replacements but he never gave the size boot needed. I luckily found you (and a link!) with some googling.

Do you know where to get the bearings and races for rebuilds? Going to use your video guide but need the guts too. Thanks!

Other than from other axles I don’t know where to get those parts.

How are these boots holding up? I'm getting tired of oem boots on my lifted Forester. Using same boots for inner and outer?

    • @Tahu2323
      @Tahu2323 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Yep same boot inner and outer. And I haven’t put a lot of miles on them but they’ve held great so far!

Hope you have better luck with the Optima then I did. I’ve run them since the late 80’s and always loved them but they started going downhill in the early 2000’s and sold out to Johnson Controls in 2009 and really went downhill. They were originally made in the US from what I understand and now they are all made in China. I hope you have great luck with it and they make a great comeback because at one time they were my go to battery! Btw…this is Tony (BACON Crosstrek)!🤪

That’s actually an odyssey battery, and those are fantastic batteries. I almost got optima but heard pretty much what you said from a lot of different sources.
