What are the symptoms of bad fuel injectors?
You would get a check engine light with misfire codes. One or multiple codes P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, and P0304. Then, the misfire codes would need to be diagnosed further using an A/F test on a scan tool to determine the injectors as the source of the misfire codes.
Gonna be awful hard to ever get that coupler aligned perfectly, I think mainly due to the movement at the motor mounts. How about dropping that gearbox down, and using a pulley on it and a pulley on the flywheel/flexplate, with a belt between them. A belt will easily flex enough to smooth things out.
Movement in the motor mounts is none existent. I had mounted the engine to the frame extensions solid, knowing I was likely going to have to use a fixed coupler. Machining the face of my adapter should remedy any of my run out issues. Otherwise, I'd say dropping the box and running a belt would be a decent idea. In all honesty, it's not a horrible amount of runout, and I likely won't bother even getting it machined.
@@PNWRepair OK, gotcha, I can see u have put a lot of thought into this! Then it might be worth trying original type motor mounts, or even the oil filled type, just to see what happens. Especially if the vibrations seems to be just as bad with that coupler removed. I always love seeing projects like this!
badass
Helpful and key not to block oil supply above the output shaft bearing, with gasket material...thanks.
PS, i liked and subscribed! 😊
Is your left big toe nail painted ?😂 j/k lol
In groups (and from others with small motors) ive heard to NOT run full synthetic on these engines. But as always, i take those words with a grain of salt. Great video.
I haven't heard that, nor can i think of any reason, not too. I'm familiar with the idea that running conventional oil throughout an engines life and suddenly changing to synthetic can potentially result in oil leaks from sealing surfaces. However, this is a new engine running synthetic from the start. Often, it is best to refer to the manufacturer for fluid type recommendations. I found this on Briggs and Stratton website. www.briggsandstratton.com/na/en_us/support/faqs/browse/mower-oil-type-and-capacity.html It specifically mentions the use of synthetic oils and states, "Synthetic oils are an acceptable oil at all temperatures. The use of synthetic oil does not alter required oil change intervals."
@PNWRepair I can confirm also that Rato specifies synthetic as I research more into it. I'm definitely not going take group advice.
Good video did you get the other gauge from china yet? lol I dont think you need a relay for that fan, it draws so little current
Sure did. Works great. A typical rocker switch is rated for 20 amps. Being this fan is advertised to draw 20 amps. I used the relay as a safety precaution. It's not a great idea to run a circuit component at maximum capacity all the time. That's how electrical fires start and machines burn to the ground.
@@PNWRepair 20 watts, not 20 amps. Ohms law is amps = wattage divided by voltage, which would be 1.6 amps. A tip from a veteran electrician. Trust me no relay needed.
You are incorrect. Here is a link to the exact toggle switch I used. Rated at 20 amps equaling 240 watts (like the average toggle switch). Toggle Switches 8 Pack 2 Pin ON... www.amazon.com/dp/B07WW3WW3F?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share Do it without a relay, I don't care. I just choose to wire things so they don't burn down in the future.
@@PNWRepair Yes the switch is rated to handle UP to 20amps. Switches dont draw any current, only the load does, ie a fan a light etc. That fan does not draw anywhere near 20 amps. Your little magneto couldnt come close to even handling that kind of load. Not sure what PNW repairs, but this is basic stuff.
Clearly, I "repair" things you don't have the knowledge to figure out on your own. Thanks for putting this video back in the algorithm with your ignorance. Might I suggest sticking to wiring houses? Just not mine. Thank you, and have a great day.
Thank you for your response. Really appreciate your advice
As you've added a hydraulic fluid filter, you obviously think it's necessary. My neighbour and I both own one of these and he is a very good mechanic and doesn't think the hydraulic filter is necessary as it's a closed system. Could you let me know please your reasoning why you think it is?. Thank you
Regardless of how clean you did or didn't get your system after flushing the original fluid out, there will likely be some contamination left. Components wear out, the pump in particular. This will add metal contamination to your system that without a filter will run through your pump and wear it out prematurely. I am not certain if the system is sealed or vented. If the reservoir is vented to atmosphere that would be a point for contamination to enter being breather filters are often nothing more than steel wool.
There's a reason why Chinese equipment costs less. I wonder what all those things would cost if the machine was left at a local dealer to install ?
About as much as we pay for the non-chinese ones at the various dealerships, I reckon. Lol
New subscriber here..I have ben thinking of purchasing one of these ...I have been doing some research and just like most things from China I am sure I am going to have to upgrade many many things in addition to grease fittings as well as lots of other things...-John
Can you show how the battery is routed , I'm tired pull starting mine
In series for 24 volts. I have one also
I had a 15 s80 and have considered getting another one so i wanted to see what all is involved with a timing service since it doesnt involve a water pump replacement (electric pump). My s80 got almost 40mpg. Wonderful car. Good video.
It's my first Volvo (Cummins diesel guy). I needed a fuel efficient vehicle to commute back and forth. I have experience with Volvo truck engines that ultimately made my decision to buy a Volvo car. I've been pretty happy with it and can't complain about the 34-37mpg I get driving up and down mountain passes. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Volvo at this point.
Great video .. Watched it all and i dont even own a Volvo lol
This is a big help, I’ve got an 89 Ramcharger and I can’t get it safety inspected due to that stupid turn signal/cruise/highbeam/ wiper stalk. Gonna move wipers to dash and go highbeam turn only at column. Don’t care about cruise really. This video was just in time. Now to find a good column.
Drag screwdriver on a magnet 🧲 any steel screwdriver is Magnetized Your welcome
I have 2 of these welders and they both have the same issue. The wire sputters, seems like the wire is getting pinched, I’ve already replaced the liner. I ended up buy a new welder because I couldn’t figure it out and didn’t feel like throwing parts at it, but I would like them repaired because they were my grandfather’s.

But youre forgetting that the bearing material is ground up in the oil now and not just where the bearing was
Folks ,when he says the cams will roll over. He means after you remove the tbelt , one of the cam[gears] may SPRING ! forard or back risk hitting the piston. Moving the crank just off tdc helps avoid bending valves. Although i never heard or had it happen . It seems like a good precaution.
Who did you buy the bearings from?
It's been a while since I did this job, but I think I probably picked them up from Rockauto.
What type of noise does it make? Is it a constant noise while you’re driving similar to like a metal or metal? And besides noise, would it give me a high revving RPM
I'd describe the noise as a growling/howling noise. Exactly like a failing wheel bearing would sound like. This noise would occur with the vehicle running in neutral or any gear with the clutch pedal out (clutch engaged). Like any failing bearing, it would typically get louder with RPM. I wouldn't think it would have any effect on engine RPM. That sounds more along the lines of a slipping clutch disc.
I have the same noise, but it's only under load (gas pedal pressed). If I let off the gas, the noise goes away. There doesn't seem to be any noise in neutral. Do you think it could still be the input bearing?
What type of noise does it make? Is it a constant noise while you’re driving similar to like a metal or metal?
It makes a whirring noise when the clutch is released.
I did the same job in 6 hours it was a pain. I got injectors from Autozone.
Old Hyster Forklift Gets a New Floor Pan Nice video I have also been a forklift operator like this, I can even drive a forklift operator's car Thank you very much for sharing Regards
How many hour does it take to take it off and put it back ..
I had a slight misfire on idle specially in the morning so decided to change my injectors, i did mine @ 120k KM bought same injectors from ebay $90usd, its been 8k km (6months) now with no issue...
I have an 89 almost the same as yours and love it. Paid only $3,500 Canadian and they sell for about 10 G here. If you got it for $2,500 , thats a steal cause their worth a lot more. mine has 89,000 km or about 50,000 miles on it. I love working on it doing many little upgrades and renos.
Nice Video ! Handy tools to use : Razor blade . Cookie sheet pan Tip cleaners / music wire . Fireplace bellows . Can of ether . Wire brush .
i would replace the seal.. to be safe than sorry
thanks so much for the help 🙌👍
If you can’t design a car with the fuel injectors on top of the engine, I don’t want the car because there’s no reason for this.
This is why I’m not buying this car. I look at things like this before I buy a car if it doesn’t have easy access I don’t buy it. I’m buying a car right now. I’m getting rid of my old car, but just because I was looking at this video I won’t be buying this car.

What is it with every random person on the Earth thinking they need to broadcast to TH-cam, their life‘s story?
Well if you'd have watched the video through you would have realized I made this video for my regular viewers to explain why I haven't been posting anything lately. Turns out when you post content on a regular basis and stop at random people start to ask questions. So go ahead and be a dick. People like yourself are big talkers behind that computer screen. All your doing is helping put my content back in the algorithm.😂
I’m typing behind a screen not talking and nobody cares what I think about anything. What did everyone do with their lives before the Internet and TH-cam? To me TH-cam has provided a way for millions of people to scream out for help and to tell the world their lives have no meaning without acknowledgment from complete strangers.
@@booger65man Clearly your hear to argue semantics. It is also evident you haven't watched any of my other content and don't know why I make content. Find another channel to harass.
