you should never forget the whole series based on the Asian fate in reincanation. Then compare the lights to karma points and mix it with the multiple worlds theory of Kotomi´s parents and the stage play Nagisa wrote. And don´t try to find a linear time line, maybe Ushio exists since the origin. It´s a little bit like Katsukis soul transformed from Misae´s cat back into his former body for a while. Maybe "the girl" transforned to Ushio´s form while she slept in the wood... I have many pretty good theories how the final works, but you´ll find no wich explains everything. But the series doesn´t want to explain.

"Frieren" is a realistic story without any moral claim. Humen and elves aren´t the "better beings", they deceive with EVERYTHING they do. The demons have their true aura at least but that´s their downfall.
