In this session, we explored the current state of afterschool in 2024 and where New York stands following the election and as we approach New York's state budget season in January 2025.
This session discussed: how we expect the 2024 election to impact the afterschool system, the changes in the afterschool landscape as a result of the last year’s budget and the introduction of the Learning and Enrichment After-school Program Supports or LEAPS grant, what the New York State Network for Youth Success is asking the state for in the fiscal year 2025-26 budget to support afterschool at the state level, and how you can be involved in afterschool state budget advocacy.
