Hello all I am a humble goblin that turns wrenches and has decided to share my misadventures with you so you can also screech about cars and pop culture...welcome to the chaos.
The Goblin Mechanic shop grand opening!!!
Welcome to the grand opening of the channel, in short this video is a brief intro to who I am and what we do around here. If you need the TLDR cars have been my life and this channel is my way of trying to give back to the automotive community. #automotive #mechanic #vtuber

Nobody reads the user manual anymore. While making things profitable for repair shops, that also makes stupid problems like this happen so often you wanna rip your hair out.
I love when I go in totally bummed cuz in my mind I’m gonna have to spend thousands then they just tell my dumb *** that it’s something this simple. I feel like an idiot but so relieved.
Who doesn't love those just dodged a bullet jitters 😂
Charge them 1000$ and they will learn 😂😂😂
Damn are you a service advisor cause you got the makings of one 😂
CELEBRATE! EASY MONEY DUUUUDE!!
Nope free work the advisors give away to make themselves look better
What are you complaining about? That’s an easy hour. For those of you that are crying foul, you bought a block of my time and chose to use it in this manner. You being foolish does not affect the value of my time.
Since it's a quick fix our advisors will drop the labor off the ticket to "bribe" the customer for a good review. That way they get a bonus and the techs get shafted
Yep some customers are just dumb. Can be really annoying af. But it comes with the job
Truer words have never been spoken.
Haven’t you ever thought maybe they weren’t playing with the brightness?? Why even get into a customer service position if this is your outlook?
Cause my smooth brain is really good at mechanical repair and problem solving but more importantly I NEED MONEY!!!!!!!
Adjusted dimmer 150$
I wish man...I wish 😂
I'm going to be honest why does that even exist I can't think of a single time where I wouldn't want it to be all the way up
To help balance the brightness at night so you’re not being blinded by your gauge cluster!
around town the brightness doesn't bother me, but on a long trip it's nice to knock it down a bit at night.
Technically the other two replies here are correct but what's odd is new vehicles with larger brighter screen displays are phasing this out. What that means for safety I don't know but it's an odd choice for sure
@@TheGoblinMechanic perhaps the trend is toward auto-dim on the cluster, which many have had for years. IOW, the brightness drops when the headlights are on, via a sensor mounted near the defroster duct. (dark outside and headlights on) I have stumbled on that several times by tossing a ball cap on the dash and blocking the sensor on a rainy day. (our state requires headlight on a rainy day) GM had that feature in the late 90s.
@@rupe53 hmm that sounds legit. Unfortunately Chrysler sensors of that variety fail often and create all kinds of problems. Hope they get it figured out before it becomes standardized.
I’ve bumped that with knee before and thought the light went out of almost a week
But you figured it out eventually right?
@@TheGoblinMechanic yeah it took me a week but I also wasn’t really concerned at the moment or trying to figure it out
Just help the customer and get paid done stop complaining
"It's too hard for me to take 5 minutes out of my day to do a google search and read a user manual... Can you fix my car please?" And then they complain about the price when you do. "If it was so simple why are you charging me so much?" If they get to complain about something they could have fixed alone, why can't I? lmao
That's the thing , it's now a free labor job since the advisor wants a good review and it was a quick fix😑
@@dergun8205words of wisdom and experience right here 💯
Setting your own prices is great. Single mothers will buy anything.
Yeah ma'am you had a burnt fuse, I replaced it and oiled it up, its going to be 50 bucks for labor and materials.
@@Bird_Enforcement wait... bird enforcement? I definitely have a late pass.
@@Latebird27 LMFAO
Sadly I got dealership rules and advisors will give away free labor on small jobs for a good review.
It shouldn’t have an opinion to go that dark.
Cars don't have "opinions" that I'm aware of. But as far as options go, yes, they should. Those of us with IQs above room temperature don't have any trouble with it, and appreciate the versatility.
I personally love it sometimes I just want it completely dark in the cab

What if you're getting into your car close the door, turn on the car and some walks up to mug you now you cant leave because if this. I think its dumb af.
@@ligma8353 right? It's not ideal for emergency or poor visibility conditions... I have very mixed feelings about it.
I see shit like this all the time 🤦🏽♂️
I'm glad it's not just me 😂
Its wild how customers will fuck with their shit but oh man you leave their screen on anything but the speedometer they are so helpless
That hypocrisy drives me up the *****ing walls
Charge them $100 for wasting your time that’s what I do!!! Minimum charge for looking at your car!!!👍😸
@@franknukemcomegetsome2744 that needs to be a new national minimum 😑
Chinese junk, good luck with that
You can turn it off
@@JulianInclan-Valdez I'm gonna have to remember that. It makes doing maintenance difficult at times
Rubbish bushes

Them shocks and struts look factory. Sway bar is doing all the work. Super duty’s wear out bushings super fast due to terrible front shocks. Known problem, same parts being used. Silverados did that too for a number of years due to worn out struts/coils. Some issues need to be solved at the dealer without a computer and fixed at the manufacture end, not at the expense of the owners.
Whoa man thanks for the heads up and the education. 🫡
Your falt
Always is😉
Polyurethane is garbage. Get rubber ones.... this coming from 25 years of experience
I'm gonna start recommending that going forward on these work trucks.
@TheGoblinMechanic trust me you won't regret it
I have never have a problem with them. But I only have 40years experience 😅
Smashin diveways
Get the extreme heavy duty! 😳💪🏻🤣
Lol thanks
If sway bar link bushings getting wiped out that fast ,you have other suspension issues my friend. Need a thorough inspection of front end, struts, springs, ball joints, control arm bushings, sway bar bushing etc. Sway bar link or bushing failure is usually a sign that there other suspension issues going on that caused it. Look at the system. It's called a sway bar for a reason. If he's pounding out bushings there's something else going on.
Yo thanks for the heads up. I'll check it out in the morning
eurethane?
Most likely
@@TheGoblinMechanic Go with rubber, much more forgiving. Tried poly bushings in shocks and such on the street, many times. Had the same destruction.
I had the same problem with my 2011 Silverado. I replaced him three times they broke three times put new struts front of the truck both sides replaced bushings, no more problems !!!
Hmm we may have to look into that , thanks
Hitting things typically doesn't blow out sway bar bushings it's over tightening most people tight until the nut bottoms out but you're only supposed to tighten until the bushing expands to the same size as the washer
Knowing the guy I replaced this makes way too much sense 😂
😅@@TheGoblinMechanic
Bingo I can confirm
I preffered elmers paste.... Came with a spoon in the cap.

ya in the 80s/90s there were sented glue sticks. It turnes out the additives they used to make it smell like grape, strawberry or cherry also made it taste like grape, strawberry or cherry.
