Chill beats for your stressing live
Op-1 Field remains unbeated!
In this video I build a track using the OP-1 field. I really clicked with it more than the new teenage enginering OP-XY. I click better with the tape workflow than with the sequencer workflow but to each their own! I started from scratch with an idea for a melody that I liked. I layered a few sounds, sampled my guitar and made it all together in the tape. Possibly I will put this into Ableton at some point. I really like making this kind of video. Let me know if you like to see similar ones in the future!

Hello there! Sometimes, we lose focus on what our music gear is for. I see people complaining about machine 3.0, and maybe rightfully so, but just remember that Maschine is meant to be used to make music! So let's just do that! In this video, we are making a Lofi house beat from a very cool chord progression. that I just stumbled upon while jamming with the guitar. We are gonna be using Maschin...

This is such great and informative Video that definitely deserves more attention!
Thank you!
Sounds lovely! I would love to listen this as a full track!
Thank you, I’ll build on it for sure!
What if the music you love and want to make are the complicated ones?. Something like a fusion of Jazzy, trap, and edm and afrobeat. I love complicated chords in music. I can literally sing to whatever melodies but when I send my beats out artist are confused but when I share them the demo vocals I did to the beat they are like they love it but they feel like it's too hard for them to sing.
What do I do in this case I know my sound is unique and I know the world needs to hear it. But these artist are just not able to jump on my productions. I'm beginning to feel like I should just go ahead and make my own songs cause they're some of the best music I have heard.
Fair point! Then do that! Just make the music you wanna make!
Nice brotha!
Thanks bro!
The device audio is way too low vs the key clicks. At first I thought it was the synth adsr 😂
Not a bad idea 😂
Prepare to have your ears blown out if you have headphones . 🤦♂️.
Sorry about that!
Brother you are really talented, dont be shy to look at the camera cause this session is inspiring me
Thank you brother ❤️🙏
On what website did you put the info to get a song?
Hello, the best one is probably SUNO. All of them are linked in the description
no audio
You sure? I got audio!
@ very faint. Much quieter than any other yt content.
Awesome 👍🏻
Thank you! ❤️
The op 1 has a ridiculous workflow. what kind of sequencer is that? Give me the move any day.
I see what you say that but I prefer the op 1 to sequence melodies!
Honestly, this is like comparing a dishwasher to a TV…
Is it though? To me they aren't that different except for the price😂
@coacopaco well, the concept of the op-1 is built around the 4 track audiotape, where everything is committed and no changes can be made. The Move is more akin to the op-z, a midi sequencer where you can go back and change everything.
@@malwida1022 well you’re right on that but still they are similarly sized, portable, battery powered synth/samplers/sequencer. You are right the the workflow is night and day, but still I don’t think it is a crazy comparison!
Which one is the ‘dishwasher’, lol … ?
@kierenmoore3236 the white one of course ;-)
Ridiculous price aside, my biggest problem with OP-1, despite all these built-in creative tools, I've yet to see someone making fat sounding beats out of it. But maybe that's just me. With the Move though, you see people making amazing sounding beats with it in all styles within a week after launch. As for the Move it has two outstanding features IMO: It's immediacy as it just begs for instant beat making. And the seamless integration with Ableton Live which solves the biggest question with these types of devices: Now what?
There are good beatmakers with the OP-1. You can see the older days of red means recording, son wu, and some others. I am not sure how to put it, but in the OP-1 field, you need to have it to know what it is. It is also very polarizing; you either love it or hate it. In my case, I some days love it and some days hate it, but overall, I love it. I still reach out for it more than I do for Move, though that changes occasionally! I really agree with what you said about the move. That is the biggest up for me. Everything "ends" in the groove boxes, and this one really solves the "now what" question. Thank you for your insights!
Agreed. The synth sounds from the OP-1 here, I would not be happy with at all …
Thanks man !! I really loved the video ! I was looking specifically for a comparison between these two
Thank you! :)
Thank you for comparing the two this is super informative! Do you know if you can use the pads on the move to play the OP one?
Hello, you can select which tracks you send the midi data from. You can connect them via USB, but the MIDI capabilities in move are very wonky. Perhaps in the next update it would be more solid! Thank you for tuning in!
Thanks for sharing your creative process Love getting to see
Thanks for watching!
I loved this! Just got OP1 field this was really helpful
Glad it was helpful!
Nice Video, keep going!
Thanks, will do!
Is it copyright free?
Yes I believe so
i like the idea the start was really interesting

Akai Force is better
Mmm, each one had their advantages. I feel like maschine is more immediate. When I arrange I just rather use Ableton.
Bro como se llama esa controladora que tienes sobre del Midi?
Bro! Esa es la Roland mc707. La compré hace un tiempo pero la acabé vendiendo aunque era una buena máquina
Nice .. Good analysis and structured narrative flow ..Btw, would love to hear your thoughts on the 'Sound of Metal'?
For sure! I will check it out!
Is it true that Artists find their doppelgangers down south?
hahahahah in reality I am two people. I have a twin, but we are never together!
I don't think this will make great quality music because it's just a mashup. It sounds very generic--like elevator music. It's also very jarring in that it doesn't really flow well. Now, as an idea generator this seems exciting. As you said this could be used to generate samples to place in music and then the artist could draw ideas from them. I believe the Scaler plugin already does some aspects of this with chord progressions and advanced theory concepts like reharmonization and perhaps counterpoint.
I think that it is going to be the main way of using this AI tech for music production. Exciting things are coming for sure!
Why do people change something that ain't there's to change you took this man's song and ruined it
You can also choose to not listen to it, idk what makes you so mad
@@coacopaco not angry at ya mate
This seems fine to me but the way you remix at 0:23 seemly went off that you blocked the vocal by a single beat (idk what sound) the rest you just did looks good, but I hate that whoever just disrespect their part of culture/Folklores I give this 8.7/10 My explaination was a bit off I don't judge at you the way how it sounds like.
Cool video man! So cool to actually see someone use the three apps !
Thanks!
Musicians disappear?! Negative.
Agreed
this thing isnt available in my country...samething since last year
VPN! Not available in mine either
this is a sampling goldmine!
For sure!!!
Nope it won't make musicians disappear, it'll make musicians that can make a living off of music disappear... But most "true"' musicians will keep making music anyway, because they can't help themselves... I haven't been able to make a living off of music for quite a while now (20-ish years).. That doesn't stop me making music, it just makes me have to find my income somewhere else. But that was already true before AI got involved...
For sure, artists are not moved by money. In fact, very few people go down this route for the money. They still need money, though. We will always need to express ourselves, and we will always find a cool way to use all of these creative tools.
@@coacopaco I worked in a studio for 15 years, mixing audio for tv and radio, now I work as an AV-technician in events and festivals... for the past 5-ish.. Studio was definitely more ideal, since in downtime I could use it for my own stuff... But if I ever land a stadium gig I can bring my own line arrays now... It's just a lot (50-80 hour work weeks) of irregular hours... Which leaves me little time for actual music... Still trying to find a balance...
Why have an improv guy in the thumbnails? It’s people like him who it won’t replace… improv will still be a thing no matter where it goes
it is just because he was the one demonstrating it. I agree with you, AI is not gonna replace musicians, but I think it can be a good companion. Especially for improv artists. Imagine backing tracks adapting to your playing, or that you can tweak on the fly... That would be pretty cool
You're a little late to the party. Didn't you discover Suno and Udio, yet? Google AI music may work for live performances, but it sounds horrible in comparison.
Yeah for sure! Thanks! I actually agree that I’m late to the party hahahaha. It sounds bad I agree but this is the worst that it will ever sound. How is it going to be in 10 or 20 years?
The majority of people aren't into music anyway, they will listen to anything and wont care how its made or what it is, they just want background music or whatever the latest fad is. Those people that are into music are fussy and it will take a lot more for them to be fully satisfied that they are listening to great music. I've heard some good general music with Ai but its not in the same league as the best human musicians although it can do some good recreations of existing music or capture that style, a lot of it comes down to lyrical content and it isn't there yet.
It’s like you took the soul from the original and disrespected it in every regard 😂
Sorry you feel that way
@@coacopacois that your way of saying you don't care

Sittin On The Dock of the Bay?
Its not even just the chord progression that sounds similar in the lana del rey song. The melody is so similar that i think she did copy them or at least accidently did
exactly my thoughts. she adds many vocal similarities from radiohead to hers and its obvious, but i guess its not necessarily a bad thing, bc its not really copying but almost is imo.
Agreed! Also those chords (IMO) kinda make you make melodies like that
Great video!!
Thanks!
Nice Video!

They can charge that because there is no competition. Haven’t tried the Seqtrak, but it kind of looks cheap, seems con convoluted. I hated it on price point alone before I got it. Coming from maschine, mpc live 2, I actually love the tape.
agreed! I mean, the price is steep, but to me it is worth it to be honest. I think you are right, they can charge that money because there is nothing quite like it, but working in a similar industry myself, I can tell you that this is not an easy thing to make. I guess that is why there is nothing quite like it.
@@coacopaco Totally. The immediacy, the fact I can turn it on and in about 5 seconds it’s on and ready to go. It does everything, Maybe not the best, but it is easy. I looove my mpc live 2. I have every plug in akai has made for it, several gigs of samples, expansions etc. I’ve made countless complete songs with vocals that sound as good as they do in logic. But I haven’t touched it since I got the op-1 field. Only to sample instruments. It’s the funnest piece of gear I’ve ever owned.
What device is that? it looks so easy to make music now
I found it, it's a bit expensive tho

Yeah, it is very expensive unfortunately
I heard a review saying that these have some issues with crashing and loading samples sometimes take a while. Not sure if it’s true but I’m thinking of getting this or the Nekter Aruba.

Llevo meses y aún no me decido 😅.
