Op-1 Field remains unbeated!
In this video I build a track using the OP-1 field. I really clicked with it more than the new teenage enginering OP-XY. I click better with the tape workflow than with the sequencer workflow but to each their own! I started from scratch with an idea for a melody that I liked. I layered a few sounds, sampled my guitar and made it all together in the tape. Possibly I will put this into Ableton at some point. I really like making this kind of video. Let me know if you like to see similar ones in the future!

Hello there! Sometimes, we lose focus on what our music gear is for. I see people complaining about machine 3.0, and maybe rightfully so, but just remember that Maschine is meant to be used to make music! So let's just do that! What if the music you love and want to make are the complicated ones?. Something like a fusion of Jazzy, trap, and edm and afrobeat. I love complicated chords in music. I can literally sing to whatever melodies but when I send my beats out artist are confused but when I share them the demo vocals I did to the beat they are like they love it but they feel like it's too hard for them to sing.

      @coacopaco well, the concept of the op-1 is built around the 4 track audiotape, where everything is committed and no changes can be made. The Move is more akin to the op-z, a midi sequencer where you can go back and change everything.

    • @coacopaco
      @coacopaco 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@malwida1022 well you’re right on that but still they are similarly sized, portable, battery powered synth/samplers/sequencer. You are right the the workflow is night and day, but still I don’t think it is a crazy comparison!

    Ridiculous price aside, my biggest problem with OP-1, despite all these built-in creative tools, I've yet to see someone making fat sounding beats out of it. But maybe that's just me. With the Move though, you see people making amazing sounding beats with it in all styles within a week after launch. As for the Move it has two outstanding features IMO: It's immediacy as it just begs for instant beat making. And the seamless integration with Ableton Live which solves the biggest question with these types of devices: Now what?

    • @coacopaco
      @coacopaco 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      There are good beatmakers with the OP-1. You can see the older days of red means recording, son wu, and some others. I am not sure how to put it, but in the OP-1 field, you need to have it to know what it is. It is also very polarizing; you either love it or hate it. In my case, I some days love it and some days hate it, but overall, I love it. I still reach out for it more than I do for Move, though that changes occasionally! I really agree with what you said about the move. That is the biggest up for me. Everything "ends" in the groove boxes, and this one really solves the "now what" question. Thank you for your insights!

    I don't think this will make great quality music because it's just a mashup. It sounds very generic--like elevator music. It's also very jarring in that it doesn't really flow well. Now, as an idea generator this seems exciting. As you said this could be used to generate samples to place in music and then the artist could draw ideas from them. I believe the Scaler plugin already does some aspects of this with chord progressions and advanced theory concepts like reharmonization and perhaps counterpoint.

      The majority of people aren't into music anyway, they will listen to anything and wont care how its made or what it is, they just want background music or whatever the latest fad is. Those people that are into music are fussy and it will take a lot more for them to be fully satisfied that they are listening to great music. I've heard some good general music with Ai but its not in the same league as the best human musicians although it can do some good recreations of existing music or capture that style, a lot of it comes down to lyrical content and it isn't there yet.

    I heard a review saying that these have some issues with crashing and loading samples sometimes take a while. Not sure if it’s true but I’m thinking of getting this or the Nekter Aruba.

    Gracias por el vídeo,estoy pensando en comprar mi primer dispositivo "standalone" (probe ante con el pc y me dio mucha pereza...) Y ahora buscando información para la compra del dispositivo me encuentro en la diatriba de elegir dispositivos más "sencillos" pero con menos recorrido,o comprar directamente algo como la MPC one que ofrece mucho por el precio pero quizá hace el camino al beat más tortuosos.... Llevo meses y aún no me decido 😅. Un saludo,y muy buenos videos!,me suscribo!😊

      Gracias! Sinceramente depende mucho de cada persona. En mi opinion, si quieres tocar el ordenador lo menos posible, quizás deberías ir a por algo como una MPC, pero si quieres tu dispositivo solo para empezar los beats, entonces yo iria a por algo mas simple. No se cual es tu budget, pero maschine mk3/ o el plus, creo que es de lo mejorcito ahora

      @@coacopacopues tio por más que investigo,no doy tomado una decisión...cuando creo que se lo que voy hacer veo otra review y Zas!😅 Vengo mucho del hip-hop y por eso mi interés en la mpc,luego he visto que hablan muy bien de la maschine +...No sé si has tenido experiencia con las 2?... En cualquier caso muy buena música,y muy interesante un canal como el tuyo en Español.Gracias por contestar 😊!

      Gracias! He probado los dos, y sinceramente los dos son muy buenos. Yo siento que conecto mejor con maschine pero los dos están muy bien

      @@coacopaco muchas gracias por la ayuda,estuve mucho tiempo esperando una buena oferta de segunda mano,y al final me pille la mpc,porque me salía un poco más económica .... La gente dice mucho eso sobre la maschine,como que es más intuitiva para trabajar... Yo no soy un tío de libro de instrucciones,pero habrá que ponerse las pilas...🤦‍♂️😂 Un saludo y muchas gracias!

      It really depends on the day… but maybe like 10 min?? The thing is that the next day I hate it !! ;)

    Not sure what mic that is, but it's not picking up the treble in your voice or really anything in the frequency range that anyone wants to hear haha I'd get a new condenser.

      sorry for that. Yeah the mic sucks a little. It is a rode m3 I think. I should step up my game!
