O Ilê Aiyê, ou simplesmente Ilê, é o mais antigo bloco afro do carnaval da cidade de Salvador, no estado da Bahia, Brasil. Criado em 1 de novembro de 1974, o Ilê foi o primeiro bloco afro do Brasil e hoje constitui um grupo cultural de luta pela valorização e inclusão da população afro-descendente, inspirando a criação de muitos outros grupos culturais no Brasil e no mundo.

O Ilê, É lindo de se ver. Mas nós associados queremos que o bloco saia mais cedo tds os dias de Carnaval.
A pergunta a ser feita é: Qtos desses jovens que estão fazendo parte dessa bateria em 2000 cresceram em cultura e musicalidade como o bloco Ilê cresceu nesses 24 anos? Temos que valorizar mais que fez o bloco Ilê Aiyê ser o que ele é hoje.

Me and my steel band from Puerto Rico "Supari Mai"(TH-cam) will play a very large part of this song on a competition the first week of June this year 2011, on Disney World in Orlando, FL. Just the greatest time of my life as far as play pan is concerned. Many of my friends left Solo Harmonites during the years to play with Renegades and I eventually caught the bug. This arrangement by Jit, like many of his typical arrangements is absolutely fantastic! Out of this World! The discipline, showmanship and general attitude of true champions ( Renegades pan players) was seen nightly during 1996 through 1997 leading to the panorama finals. Great experience!!
