Well that's the thing, for every single franchise there's always going to be a group of people who have a very different and almost drastic opinion. From the purist point of view, the only legitimate shiny you should be catching is one that you finding the wild with no modification whatsoever. Any method you use that helps to speed up the process or make it easier for you is not "in the spirit of the hunt" to them and there's nothing you can do about it. A shiny Pokemon is a shiny pokemon, it's as valid if you caught it through chain fishing, breeding, shiny charm or any other legal method. Those are legitimate shiny Pokemon, all of them regardless of what you did to get them. The only time it's actually cheating is when you make a shiny Pokemon through hacking. The truth in the matter is there's always going to be people who fight against the grain of progression. Hell, the odds of finding a shiny itself in the wild have been reduced drastically since X and Y. It's fun to encounter a shiny, more when you catch it. It shouldn't matter how you do it as long as you're enjoying the process and using what the game gave you.
