I just started I'm on my 4th day my team is 220k I have Albedo 2* / Demi 3* / Gelda 2* and every other Overlord here at 1* all F2P I'm hoping I get get my links sorted out at some point but over all the game most definitely let you catch up you get so much free diamonds and mats it crazy. Also I think now is the best time if you want to play 7ds since in 1 banner you get top tier PVP and PVE units

About your friend, I understand his concerns. However, I started playing the game end of January-February ish last year, and I’m on track to reach 8.5M Box CC soon. Furthermore, I made it to champion V (ungeared) in less than 1 year, so I’d say his worries are mostly unfounded. N.B. : I’m a 100% F2P player, so I haven’t even bought payed cosmetics for collab characters and the such. All I got is through the in game currency and mission rewards.
