Store bought marshmallows are packed full of high fructose corn syrup and free from any health benefits.
•
But when made at home, marshmallows can literally be medicinal, and a perfect nourishing treat with the gut healing benefits.
•
Marshmallow root can soothe a sore throat and dry cough. This root contains mucilage, which coats the throat and esophagus, reducing irritation.
•
Marshmallow root can also help with bladder infections by reducing inflammation and irritation. It can also help with painful bladder syndrome and pelvic pain.
•
Marshmallow root can help with digestion issues like constipation, heartburn, diarrhea, and intestinal acid.
•
Because Marshmallow root is also an antioxidant- it can help protect the body from damage caused by free radicals.
•
this root can also help with dry mouth by coating the mouth, tongue, and throat with that mucilage.
•
And due to marshmallow root’s Antibacterial properties- it can help fight infections throughout the body, including urinary tract!
Wow- it’s amazing how far we’ve drifted from these at home- to those on the store shelf.
•
Not only do these marshmallows taste delicious, and are nearly medicine- they are also made with gelatin.
•
Gelatin is a great source of glycine, proline, and glutamic acid, which converts to glutamine in the body.
•
These days we don’t get a ton of these amino acids in our diet due to our focus more on muscle meats.
•
I’m always looking for ways to get gelatin into my diet, usually by way of homemade bone broth, homemade fruit juice gummies, and these yummy marshmallows.
•
Glutamine is especially important for those dealing with leaky gut.
•
And then combining this gelatin with marshmallow root and other ingredients like raw honey and black shilajit…you’ve got yourself a tasty treat packed with all sorts of healing benefits that start on the inside of your body, and then shine bright out through your skin!
•
These homemade marshmallows are perfect for roasting around the campfire or adding to hot chocolate.
•
However, my very favorite way to enjoy them is added to my morning mushroom tea (or coffee!). They really do just add a little something special to the start of your day!
•
To make these marshmallows, you only need a few ingredients. Water, gelatin, sweetener of choice, and a mixer. A stand or hand held mixer is required to add air into the marshmallows to make them pillowy.
•
INGREDIENTS:
.
1 cup water, divided
3 TBS marshmallow root and some hibiscus flowers (optional)
3 TBS gelatin
Sprinkle of flake salt (optional)
1 cup honey
1 tbsp vanilla extract
Pure Shilajit Resin
1 tbsp arrowroot powder (optional)
.
INSTRUCTIONS:
.
1) Add 1/2 cup water to a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer.
2) Sprinkle the gelatin evenly overtop and allow to bloom.
3) Heat remaining water and create a marshmallow tea (add hibiscus for added skincare benefits if you want) and the honey, with a sprinkle of flake salt to a saucepan.
4) Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
5) Start to mix the bloomed gelatin on low speed. In a slow stream, pour in the honey mixture.
6) Add the vanilla extract and black shilajit (optional).
7) Turn the speed of the mixer up to high. Beat for 8-10 minutes, until it has turned into thick, glossy white marshmallow fluff. The fluff should barely drip off of the mixer.
8) Quickly pour the marshmallow fluff into a parchment lined baking dish or baking sheet.
7) Allow marshmallows to set overnight before slicing into squares.
8) To prevent sticking, toss in arrowroot powder.

Oh I love your channel, just subscribed ❤
Ingredients: (yields (9) 2oz tins) . 1 ½ C pine resin 1 C grassfed tallow OR (shea/cocoa/mango butter or any other butter or fat of your choice) ½ C of a calendula-inufused oil ¼ C of beeswax or beeswax pastilles 60 drops of pine infused oil or pine essential oil (optional) . Directions: . 1). Melt the resin a bit in a double broiler. Keep the temperature low. This will take 2 hours or longer! . 2). Add the tallow and calendula oil and give it a stir and let the entire mixture melt. I had some large chunks in there so it took about an hour to fully melt. . 3). Add in the beeswax. . 4). Gently heat and once melted, and slightly cooled, add the pine oil. . 5). Pour into jars or containers. . 6). Let sit to cool and solidify. . 7). Don’t forget to label. . . Notes: . Resin, particularly certain types like frankincense or benzoin resin, can offer several benefits for the skin. Here are some potential benefits: . Anti-inflammatory properties: Resin contains compounds that have anti-inflammatory properties, which can help soothe and calm irritated or inflamed skin. This can be beneficial for conditions like acne, eczema, or rosacea. . Antimicrobial effects: Resin has natural antimicrobial properties that can help combat bacteria on the skin. This can be particularly useful in preventing and treating acne breakouts. . Skin rejuvenation: Resin is often used in skincare products due to its potential to promote skin rejuvenation. It may help improve skin elasticity, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and promote a more youthful complexion. . Wound healing: Some resins, like frankincense, have been traditionally used for their wound-healing properties. They can support the healing process, reduce inflammation, and promote the regeneration of healthy skin cells. . Antioxidant effects: Resin contains antioxidants that can help protect the skin against oxidative stress caused by free radicals. This can contribute to reducing signs of aging and maintaining a healthy complexion. . Moisturizing and nourishing: Resin-based products can provide hydration and nourishment to the skin. They help in maintaining the skin's moisture barrier and prevent dryness, leaving the skin soft and supple.
My husband has a jar of small rocks under the sink for this exact purpose😂

Do you think replacing the castor oil with shea butter to make it creamer would work? I haven't worked with pine tar and would like to give it a shot I typically don't use castor oil though.
No castor is one of those oils that are unique. But don't use above 10%. It's helps with the lather and bubbles.
Adding rice?? THATS BRILLIANT.😮
Thank you for all that share and post.
Very smart! My mom used to do that too lol
Oh your mom is a genius too! I love it! 🥰🫶🙌
A douchebag?
Being toasty warm makes it not so bad doing chores In cold weather! My hubby bought me a Milwaukee heated vest I wear when I go out to do tend my chickens!! The cold is definitely more tolerable. I have MS and the cold flares me up bad!!
It sure does! And those are so nice! Love it! 😍
And I too have a couple autoimmune diseases- one being raynauds- and totally agree with this! And struggle the same!
@@thewildcarrotfarmstead oh yes! White fingers or digits! I find having animals that rely on me, helps me mentally but it is definitely more difficult in winter!
Wonderful idea ❤
Thank you! 😊

HOMEMADE WINTER SPICED BATH SALTS: . yield: 15 CUPS (adjust as needed) prep time: 15 MINUTES total time: 15 MINUTES . Ingredients: . 3 Cups of epsom salt 3 cups magnesium flakes 1 Cup of fresh foraged pine needles 1/2 Cup of foraged cedar 1 Cup of processed, dried orange peel 1 Cup of processed dried or rosemary 1 Cup of Cyprus infused EVOO (plain extra virgin olive oil is good too) 8 tbsp baking soda 8 tbsp of juniper berries 2 tsp cardamom 1 tsp of clove 1 tsp of vanilla bean powder (optional) 10 - 20 drops of juniper berry essential oil 10 - 20 drops of timber essential oil 10 - 20 drops of vanilla woods essential oil 10 - 20 drops of pine needle essential oil 10-20 drops of winter solstice essential oil 10-20 drops of cedar wood essential oil 10-20 drops of clear skin essential oil (All oils are adjustable and interchangeable) . Instructions: . 1) Collect all of your ingredients. If you didn't forage the pine or cedar, purchase good quality bars and finely chop or even grind down using a food processer or coffee grinder. . 2) Find a big bowl and just add all of the ingredients. . 3) Thoroughly mix until evenly distributed. . 4) Store in a mason jar for storage or gifting. . 5) Slip into an enchanted forest bath using 1 cup of the bath salt mix and a warm bath!
A FEW HANDY TIPS: . Since there are herbs in the bath salts, they do take on some of the water from the bath. You don’t want these going down the drain! I use a tea bag or other breathable bag such as a cotton muslin bag to infuse the bath salts into the water. You can also use a strainer near the drain so none of the herbs make it down the drain. . IS IT SAFE TO ADD PINE TO MY BATH? Yes, using pine or cedar is very safe to use in your bath. Here are a few tips though: Make sure that if you are foraging your own ingredients, you know exactly what you are getting. If you are purchasing your own cedar, make sure it comes from a good source. You don’t want to soak in anything unexpected! . WHAT IF MY SKIN IS SENSITIVE? If your skin is sensitive, I would cut the cloves in half. This recipe doesn’t call for a lot of cloves, but just to be safe, use your own judgment. for some people, clove can be irritating, especially to those with sensitive skin. The goal of these winter spiced bath salts is to warm and calm the skin, helping you to enjoy a relaxing treat during the winter. . A note of shelf life, use all dried herbs (minus pine). The shelf life should be between 3-4 months. Adding olive oil helps to naturally preserve your bath salt blend & hydrate skin during use.
Thank you for sharing this going to try it !
Thanks much~ I've been experimenting with honey but perhaps have used too much lol
How do i store it after straining it thru cheesecloth? I'd like to try baking and frying with it. Skin care for sure. Thank you
What was that honey-looking substance you put in right before whipping it?
I was making our honey whipped tallow in that video. Raw honey from our hives. 🫶

Things to Consider when Repurposing a Christmas Tree: Make sure the tree is organic and pesticide free and hasn’t been sprayed with any colorants or chemicals or anything like that! It has to be a fresh tree-no brown needles, or the medicinal properties just won’t be there. Call around to stores a few days after the holidays (give retailers some time for the dust to settle) and ask what they do with their trees after the season. Offer to take them, yourself, with no effort on their part! Be nice and helpful and leave your business card and talk about coming back next year!
What kind of pine? And you can use any pine! They all have warming properties that were after. Though each part of the tree varies, somewhat, in strength. All pines generally are high in vitamin c, deodorizing, rubefacient, expectorant, drying, anti-microbial, anti-bacterial , anti-oxidant, and mildly diuretic. Be it red, sugar, pitch, white, ponderosa, jack-they all work. Even other conifers like fir and spruce have similar medicinal qualities. But do be careful of toxic look-alikes, like yew. 💕
What liquid are you adding?
Medicinal for???
What happened with your IG. I don't see you there anymore!?
Pay attention to the overall shape and health of the people in these videos and figure out if this is really who you wanna take health advice from 😂😂 so funny
Blocked my account when posting accurate information arguing against what they claim is true, bad business from people who obviously don’t care about producing quality product, simply claiming it’s good and blocking anyone who would argue.
Magical ❤ I'd love to be hands on and learn from someone with so much knowledge
Tysm for taking your time and making this video to teach others how to do this and the facts about it
Of course! So happy to do so! 🫶

Does the variety of pine make a difference?
This is what dreams are made of ❤❤❤
I love it 🥰.
It’s a good way to give a nice tasty treat to kiddos. Nice job!
Ingredients: (Yields a LOT 🤣) (Adjust as needed) . 4 cups of liquid of choice ½ cup gelatin (we make our own from our cattle, but also recommend @azurestandard) . Recipe: . 1) pour half of your liquid into a bowl Sprinkle gelatin over the top of the liquid in the bowl and let it bloom for 2 minutes . 2) Add the remaining liquid to a sauce pan and combine the gelatin liquid to that . 3) Place the pan on low heat and stir until a smooth texture (it will be lumpy and bumpy at first!) . 4) Pour into molds or even a greased pan and place in the fridge for an hour . 5) That’s it! Demold and serve! Notes: . Store in airtight containers in the fridge for up to two weeks for consumption. . They don’t stick together. . Ours also don’t melt. I’ve been asked that, when I pack them up as treats for school. But I’ve never had a problem with that, personally. Then again, we usually mainly make gummies in the winter months. We’d probably have more issues in the summer. So take note on the temps of your environment.
Have you considered using AMP grazing? Just curious.
We use both AMP and rotation grazing. Yes! 💕
Instructions and Guide (yields ½ pint) . 1) Making witch hazel extract is pretty simple. Start with about a tablespoon of witch hazel bark in a cup of water. (Store bought witch hazel bark is finely chopped so it’ll pack neatly into a tablespoon. If you just have a rough 1/4 cup of twigs, that amounts to roughly the same amount.) . 2) Bring the water and bark to a simmer and gently cook for about 20-30 minutes. The volume will reduce by about half, and you’ll have roughly 1/2 cup of witch hazel extract after you filter the plant material. (If using leaves, only, use the same ratio, 1 tablespoon chopped leaves to a cup of water, but make an infusion by steeping the leaves for around 20 minutes.) . 3) While it’s simmering, your house will smell a bit like a hospital. The scent isn’t unpleasant, but it just smells strongly antiseptic. This fresh witch hazel extract is now ready for use. Since it’s not preserved with alcohol, it’ll spoil quickly. Removing as much plant material as possible will help it keep longer, but in the best of cases, it’s still should be kept in the refrigerator and used within a week. *note- read on to make this shelf stable! If you’d like to make a shelf-stable witch hazel extract, you’ll need to add alcohol. A high proof vodka, whisky, or rum works well. (Isopropyl alcohol will also work, but then it’s not for internal use.) . 4) To be shelf-stable, the mixture will need at least 20% alcohol. Some sources suggest higher, around 30% alcohol. . 5) If you’ve started with 1 cup of water and simmered it down to 1/2 cup extract, you’ll need to add 1/2 cup of 100 proof alcohol (50% ABV) to reach a final concentration of 25% alcohol. (A standard vodka does the trick!) . I now have a half-pint mason jar with shelf-stable witch hazel extract ready to go if needed anytime between now and the next couple years!
I wish America regulated home sold cosmetic products like the UK....
I use salt and lemon to get out strong smells but I never thought to use vinegar too.
Can the honey be reused to make another batch? Or does it need to be new each time?
What is Tung Oil? It is a clear, pungent oil derived from tung tree seeds to be used as a wood finish. It penetrates the grain and, therefore, dries out quickly. Due to its unique properties, the oil varnish enhances and protects wood from the environment. Being of the oldest wood finishes, it has gained popularity by being non-toxic and food safe. . What are the Advantages of Tung Oil? Waterproof- furniture makers have been using Tung oil for hundreds of years because it is a waterproof wood polish, keeping the wood safe from absorbing water. . Elastic- Even though Tung oil hardens quickly, it remains elastic and does not allow contraction or expansion of wood to affect the coating. Moreover, it increases the lifespan of the wood and prevents cracking on the surface. . Food Safe- Being 100% food safe, it has become a preferred choice for kitchen cabindts and kitchen utensils, including countertops, butcher blocks, cutting boards, baskets, bowls, etc. . Non-toxic- Tung oil does not contain VOCs and is entirely non-toxic. Since it is natural, it is one of the best choices for wood polish, espcikally for children’s toys and kitchen utensils, . No-discoloration- Another advantage of using Tung oil is that it does not lose its color with time. However, it may lose its luster, but you can retain its shine every six months if you reapply oil. . Resistant to Acids and Alcohols- Tung oil is resistat to various acids and alcohols It is one of the primary reasons for using it for cutting boards and desk countertops. Its resistant to dust, acetone, and alcohol as well!
To understand why mineral oil isn’t a good choice for creating a protective barrier on wood projects, you must first know its origins. Chemically similar to petroleum jelly, mineral oils - both the unrefined forms and the highly refined ones - are still derived from petroleum “(petroleum distillate),” which automatically gives them a bad rap from those concerned with sustainability and the environment. . And if the petroleum is not highly refined, it may include polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), which are carcinogenic. This means it may increase the risk of cancer. . We don’t use oils like olive or avocado, though great, not the best for cutting boards because these oils can cause contamination over time. This not only leads to an unpleasant smell, but it can also impact how the foods you cut or serve on it taste.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us! I'm going to have to make this for sure, with the cold winter months here. This looks amazing.
I'm here watching this while sitting in my chair looking out the front window. I got tracking info that my WCF order is in route at this very moment! Looking forward to trying this out. It will come in handy when in between batches of fire cider. It always seems like it's never ready when congestion starts up!
Thank you this is exactly what I needed!!!🥰💗🙌🏻🔥Beautiful timing!!! Since it has one week shelf Life, and I will be the only one using it this week. Can I split the recipe?
