    If we are blind to the spiritual battle that is now on full display then we probably deserve what we get. Nothing wrong with making judgements about right and wrong with so much at stake.

    Oh, wow! What a fabulous teaching! This is my favorite incident in Christ's ministry showing how spiritually aware He was! Amazing, And, i love the stat you gave showing how often Christ answered questions with questions not as an evasive technique but as a teaching tool! In Christ we can be whole in every respect. Beautiful.

    Christianity demands "social conscience". I'm not sure that nationalism is synonymous, but you know by now that it's necessary to ward off outside radicals.

    • @williambarlow
      @williambarlow 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is a way to practice Christianity in a pluralistic society that allows for moral engagement in the community that does not interfere with the essential rights of others. That kind of moral engagement in the public sphere takes place whether someone is a Christian or not. So to exclude Christians from the public sphere or to denounce Christians using their specific moral judgments in politics is holding Christians to an unreasonable standard. If you watch the video, we carefully define both nationalism and Christian nationalism. I'd be curious to see if we landed in a place that you like or not.

      I assume that you would look at things from a Jewish perspective in accordance with your family's heritage. The correct thing to do, imo, is to declare the US a Christian nation, restore the overwatch on wrong doers and return Christian prayer to the schools.

    I really appreciate the opportunity to define terms. So many other recent conversations lack any clarity on what "Christian Nationalism" even is. Is America a Christian country? In some sense, obviously yes. In another sense, obviously no.

      I'm not sure what this comment means in light of what I taught. I took Trump's assassination attempt seriously. I prayed for him and his family. I did not weep because I do not view Trump as my savior. I have no emotional attachment to the man. I weep when I consider the death of my Savior, the Lord Jesus. I have a strong emotional attachment to Jesus and to God, his Father.

    The power of darkness expresses itself in people like Donald Trump, who has been sewing seeds of division for over 8 years. He tells you his enemies are your enemies. He claims righteousness while he is guilty of many, many crimes. He bears false witness like it is breathing. He has NORMALIZED ADULTERY to EVANGELICALS. He has NORMALIZED RAPE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT! He calls those who have lost their lives while defending our country "suckers and losers". He seeks out divisive topics, like giving nicknames to his enemies and intentionally and disrespectfully mispronounces their real names. He runs lies into the ground so much his cult believes him! He openly praises evil men like the murderous Vladimir Putin and his ilk. There is so much more to say, so I'll just end with this, Trump is a divider, just watch him... he is constant!!

    Yes everyone have different gifts but not all are needed to speak in tounges or just fake it to fit in church groups, Paul never said gift of tounges is necessary for salvation, and he also said not all have tounges so does it makes you lower level christian??? I know a bishop in India who never spoke in tounges fir 30 years but he has 1000 churches just in India we don't know out of India !!!! So God can work form you very powerfully even if you don't havw tounges this message needs to be preached to charismatics and to pentacoasal chuchers

    • @williambarlow
      @williambarlow 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I grew up in a charismatic church that overemphasized speaking in tongues, so I understand your comment. Just to be 100% clear, I don't think that tongues is necessary for salvation. I agree with you that Paul says that not everyone will do it. If you do not speak in tongues, that does not make you a "lower level Christian." I'm confident that there are many examples of powerful men and women of God throughout time who never spoke in tongues. So, I am a charismatic preacher who agrees with you on these points entirely. I would point out that nothing in this clip is about tongues specifically. I am making the exact point that you made in the comments: every person's experience in the gifts will be unique and different.
