An iconic airplane. Victor at Midway. What a treasure.

Slow. Lightly armed. Easy pray for Jap zeros. Did I say slow? A lot of brave American pilots were killed in this machine. But, this machine won the Pacific war. Disagree with me and you are a troll who knows nothing of the Naval Air war in the pacific.

Was fortunate to get rides in both a P-51 and P-40. The P-51 was like a Cadillac; comfy and great for a trip to the concert hall. The P-40 was like a '32 Ford hot rod; noisy and agile; perfect for cruising Main St down to the malt shop. Which would you rather be doing?!

It’s airport, not Airporr

I grew up in Lubbock Texas with Reese Air Force Base just outside the city limits. As a young boy this air base was a training base for B-25 aircraft. I would run outside at the sound of squadrons flying over and feel the ground shake with the power of that airplane. It was one of the best twin engine bombers of that time!

No mistaking 2600s. snap-crackle-pop on the ground and chug-a-chug-chug in the air. Isn't it great?

The P-38 Lightning was a remarkable fighter. Feared by the Luftwaffe in World War 2 and used extensively in the Pacific. I was famous for shooting down Pearl Harbor plotter Admiral Yamamoto during an escorted flight to boost Japanese morale to Bougainville. But the P-38 was powered by two inline liquid cooled Allison engines , which could not withstand the punishment if attacked - Unlike the P-47D Thunderbolt which was powered by a 2800 hp . air cooled Double Wasp engine . It was notably famous to get uts pilot home on only a few cylinders ! In my opinion , the P47D was the wars best fighter bomber, but needed improvement with limited range unlike the P-38 Lightning. 🇺🇸

Beautiful birds

I was there at the museum, and saw Honey Bunny appear on the radar while waiting for Skidoo to take off. (Skidoo didn’t appear for whatever reason) I was hoping for a formation of both, and it happened. One of my favorite PoF demos so far. Great footage, how are you able to go onto actual airport grounds, rather than just the museums?

I saw the polished one flying around the airport when I golfed at El Prado golf course. Beautiful sunny day and that thing looks sexy as hell and sounded awesome!
