    Are the duplexes sold as one piece? Meaning that both units will have the same address? I’d like to know if it’s possible to live on one side and rent the other

      In general, duplexes typically share the same street address number and differentiate between a side A and side B. However, they can have different street numbers as well. Currently, there are townhomes available which share the same street number but have different unit numbers (ex: #101, #102, #103, etc.) Avi Homes is the builder advertising the duplexes and are currently sold out. I would register with them, www.homesbyavi.com/austin/search-by-community/south-austin/Goodnight/duplexes, in order to find out when/if more become available. To answer your question though, with HOA approval, you should be able to purchase the entire duplex, live in one side and rent out the other. It is commonly done!       @@benbaronet thank you for the reply. Do you happen to know what the price range was for the smallest duplex? I’ve seen some ads with listing prices of 300-400 but am unsure if that’s the price per side. I imagine that if a builder is advertising the sale as a duplex then it should be the whole unit which includes both sides right?

      @@terraGaliciaXXIV We do not know the price point for the duplexes yet, however I am very confident they will be much higher than $400K. Typically, since the builder/seller can sell them separately, that would be how they are sold. It doesn't mean you could not buy both sides, but it would be more profitable to sell them separately. Again, until they release actual information this is just speculative.
