Driving All Over
United Kingdom
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 20 พ.ค. 2010
Hi everyone, I’m Joe and since passing my driving test in 2013 going for drives and visiting different parts of the UK has been a big part of my life.
Back in 2017 I got a dash cam to record some of my journeys and after a few years of not uploading I have recently started putting up footage of some of my drives. These can vary from rural scenery to an urban setting to having both in one video. Although this footage is currently on the UK road network I am hoping to get some from other European countries in the future, starting with Ireland in summer 2024.

Nice mate. I wonder who this fella Douglas is and does he mind having the race start and finish on the edge of him every year 😅 looks beautiful when you get to 11th milestone. Didn't realise it went through Ramsey as well! Didn't realise they had a mountain railway there as well! Great video mate 🎉
Thanks mate, yes there is a lot there
It's the A465*
Nice mate, didn't realise there was a cable car thing either side!
@@rubiocitywalks Cheers mate, those are quite recent and are inclined lifts. They’ve basically replaced a couple of the old escalators but the other two have remained and have been preserved due to their history Very interesting place though, I’m glad I’ve finally done it as I’ve been meaning to go there for years
Nice video, very interesting 😀
Thank you very much ☺️
Is this the only tidal road in the UK? What about the private island in Essex they used in the Woman in Black movie?
They’re the only two I’m familiar with at the minute, I’ll have to have a look
@driving_all_over don't know why but I feel like there must be at least one in Scotland lol
@ The only I’ve heard of in Scotland is I think on Colonsay but not sure if that’s a tidal road these days The others I’ve driven on are standard man made causeways that don’t flood. Still interesting things though
Nice video 😀 interesting to see a tidal road
Thank you very much, yeah it’s certainly different than the usual 😁
Great video and nice song choice mate 👌 well done on not getting submerged like those other plonkers 😂
@@no_soy_rubio Cheers mate and it’s amazing how many people either chance it or don’t check the times as the water comes in so fast there
Yeah it is
It’s Near Ashbourne
Brilliant. Too bad part if the A329(M) was downgraded to A3290
Thank you and yes it’s a shame really
Right, I am ancient enough to remember the opening of The Preston Bypass in the national media. It was never out of the news later as the various problems of poor driving conditions in bad weather and inexperienced and reckless drivers coming to grief at speed. Plenty of horror stories about it, back in the black and white days of monochrome TV. There was even a documentary, which caused controversy for showing some blood stained wreckage. I think the program was called 'The Pity of it All'. All the people who drive on it now should thank the pioneers who learned the lessons of making it safe and remember it cost some lives to make it so. Keep it flowing.
@@flunkyminion Thank you for watching and for your comment as well Yeah I’ve heard the stories about the accidents on it after opening so I’m not surprised it was hardly out the news. Thankfully things are very different these days
edinburgh city bypass was open in 1989
7:06-10:43 is really nostalgic and brings back childhood and teenage memories as my family would join the M65 and take the last exit to the M6 en route to Birmingham
Ah I’m glad to hear that 😊
6:48 Shadsworth Southbound exit is a nightmare and the area is really busy as it has businesses like EG Group and Chubb, Sports Centres and Royal Blackburn Hospital
Yeah looking on a map it seemed like a busy junction so this doesn’t really surprise me it’s a nightmare
Best part of the video 14:20-20:47 really like the choice of music
Thank you very much ☺️
Would ❤ to see a Day 2 of driving in Ireland. Could you upload this soon?
Unfortunately I only tend to upload day 1 footage of these drives as thats the day I tend to do the most non stop driving I have got some footage from the second day but it was mostly stop start due to sightseeing plus the weather was a bit damp I’m hoping to get both the M1 and M2 in NI up on the channel soon though so stay tuned for those
Quick question: could you get to Cairn Ryan ferry terminal via M74 near Cairn Lodge services?
Yes you can although it’ll be a bit of a trek!
Nice one mate 😊
Thank you mate
Like and full view from this channel mate 👌
Cheers mate ☺️
Nice video 😀 do you know if there were any plans to extend the motorway, it's rather short
Thank you ☺️ I believe there are or were plans to dual the whole route between Dublin and Derry although mainly A5 across the border. Not sure if any of that will be motorway though
next tie you go for a ride, take me with you.
Yeah will do ☺️
One of Irelands first motorways
Certainly is
Basically unused, good for speeding
Great video 😀 I'm familiar with the M65 having grown up nearby but I'm still perplexed by what junction 1a is trying to do even without the cancelled southern bypass 🤔 the B6232 may be inadequate for a link between the M65 and A56 but it has some nice views as it goes through the West Pennine Moors-you should definitely make a video of that one! And yes unfortunately that part of the world has some tricky place names to pronounce, Oswaldtwistle isn't even the worst of them!
Thank you ☺️ They must already have had it planned for future proofing before the M6 was widened but the layout was never changed Yes I did a bit of the B6232 a few years ago, lovely road to drive on. I’ll definitely get back to it in the future
Nice video, but wow, future proofing on an English motorway!!!!!!
Thank you and yes miracles happen!
Nice one
Thank you ☺️
Good old Lancashire! Would be a much busier road if the mills were still open!
Aye that’s true, it might even get widened if that happened
Hi guys, as mentioned in the video here is the link to the construction pictures: www.roads.org.uk/m65-construction-photos
Nice video 😀 Surprisingly for a ring road, it doesn't look very congested. Is that because it's still incomplete?
Thank you very much I don’t believe it’s due to the northern bit not yet being built. It might be that I filmed this on a Sunday which has contributed to the lack of congestion plus despite Cork being the Republic’s 2nd city it only has a population of about 220k
Nice video, this section of A23 is scenic 😀
Thank you and yes it’s a great drive ☺️
Nice mate. 14 years to build 😮
@@no_soy_rubio Thanks mate and yeah that long and all in stages. Even Dunkettle (the junction at the end) took a few years to be rebuilt Doesn’t bode well for the planned north ring but we’ll see what happens there
Good stuff mate 🎉
Thank you (again!)
There's a road I've driven many times! I remember when they were widening Handcross Hill and they had a speed limit of 50mph for about 5 years, pain in the neck! At least the limit wasn't 14mph I guess 😅
@@no_soy_rubio A pain in the neck but worth it in the end once it was done. Looked horrendous before that bit was upgraded I’m still impressed they managed to get some free flow slips at Patcham despite its location!
👍👍
Great video 😀 it would be nice to include a map to show where the road is
Cheers for watching and yes this is a very good point! When I get the chance I’ll add one to the thumbnail ☺️
Good stuff mate, looks very green and scenic on that part of the Emerald Isle 🌳🍀
Cheers mate, yeah the west of Ireland is much more green and sparse
brilliant share, keep sharing,i hope to see more from your lenses in the future
Thank you very much ☺️
Hi dear friend I discovered your channel today, because I saw that you commented on Matt's video in El Salvador and I was curious to know your channel. I really like the theme of traveling somewhere and listening to good music. I subscribed at your channel, and now we are sharing our videos, have a great weekend, greetings from Argentina
Ah cheers mate, appreciate the comment and thank you for subscribing. I have subbed back to you as well. Thank you very much, the right sort of music with a drive makes it even more worthwhile 😁 Yeah me and Matt go back a few years and a couple of the videos I’ve uploaded in the past are ones where he’s been a passenger in the car with me ☺️
Nice video 😀 shame it's such a short motorway
Thank you very much ☺️
looking great i did subscribed
Thank you very much ☺️
Nice
Thank you ☺️
Nice mate, you must have completed Greater Manchester by now lol
Pretty much yeah, just the M61 to put up now!
Hi buddy can you please be kind enough to do the same video you publish but in Anti-clockwise around London please? 🤔
I’ll try and get one in the future if I’m staying down that way. Unfortunately I only did the clockwise version at the time
@driving_all_over I know and I'm Aware mate. I'll be waiting for you. 👍🏻
One of your most scenic drives yet mate. Nice having no speed limit haha. A82 is my favourite road in the British Isles but this could well be better
Aye it’s an amazing road to drive on, thank you mate. The B10 and A14 are just as good in places too. The no speed limit is weird, it felt odd seeing signed 60 limits on some single carriageway roads. Weirdly I’ve not driven much of the A82 bar the bit around Fort William and the two ends. One day I’ll get the Glencoe bit done.
Nice one mate
Thank you ☺️
Great video 😀 nice scenery and amazing views of the sea!
Thank you ☺️ It’s an amazing road to drive on
