Jenna Russell is a fantastic actress who was never given the chance to shine as Michelle.
She never belonged in this part I’m glad they got rid of her. You can’t recast legacy characters.
I agree, It would be like recasting Ken Barlow in Coronation Street.
No one counted this version of Michelle as the real Michelle. I also think recasting Martin was a mistake too.

Bad move recasting Michelle, the character was too iconic with Susan Tully. It would be like recasting Grant, Pat, Den etc. If Sue couldn't reprise the role, best to just leave it as a good legacy rather than ruining it with a re cast which in hindsight proved to be a mistake.
Exactly. Anita Dobson was asked to return a few times and she refused but they never recast Angie just to bring her back.
Michelle and Kathy used to be very close and they hardly had any scenes together this time around.
I'm sure many fans hated to see a different actress playing Michelle.....What I can't understand is why people were against poor Bonnie Langford entering the show; BL has always seemed to be so lovely, cheery, and uplifting of the spirits, to me.

I would have preferred Susan Tully who was the original. In all fairness she has quit acting and directs now, including previous episodes of Eastenders
Susan Tully was definitely better! Jenna Russell is ugly!
I also preferred Susan Tully. Having a different actress play Michelle would be like having a different actor play Phil Mitchell. No matter how good the actor is, it would never look quite right.
This is great!! I made a few 'The Fall & Rise Of Janine Butcher' Omnibus's, but they wer removed. I love this show, sometimes it's good to catch up on just the main story arcs, citing out the fat.
I am getting back into EE after a four year break, so I am grateful to see these compilations
