Catholics have their proofs. Everything is documented. The apparition of Mary throughout the centuries to us catholics is a major proof for the only church, the Catholic church. Some of you say it's fine to marry more than once after divorce. You don't even agree with each other.
For what it's worth, as a pagan outsider inquiring, the only church is the Orthodox Church. Everything else is watered down or heresy. You combine logic and mystery, and Byzantium had the shroud for a few hundred years too!
It’s easier to convert from idiocy like I did than from false Christianity.
We are only catechumens and we have not been embraced by the Church yet. We cannot even partake of communion. Since we are not accepted as part of the church, how can we be expected to truly "let go of the old & embrace Orthodoxy". There is a sort of pride that belongs to some in Orthodoxy who looks down on us because we aren't fully embraced by the church yet. This is sad, sad indeed!
Religion is a social construct. One isn’t anymore true than another. Muslims believe they have the truth. Christians say they have the truth. Orthodox say they have the true Christian message, etc, etc, etc. They can’t all be right but they can all be wrong.
Only one claims the crown 👑 and that’s Jesus. He is “THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE.” I’ve read many religious books and none claim to be king not one.
@@marioknowsitsgod1506 he also claimed the end times would happen before the generation alive at that time had passed away. That didn’t happen. The muslims say their scripture is divinely revealed and the only truth. Christians the same. It’s all man made fantasy.
@@marioknowsitsgod1506 there’s always been all kinds of claims. It’s all man made fantasy driven by a persons culture and upbringing. What’s true for a Christian may not be true for a Sikh etc etc etc. Using the bible to prove Christian claims doesn’t prove anything. The hard evidence of an actual Jesus outside of the gospels is nonexistent.
Before my Baptism into the Holy Orthodox Church, I was an agnostic with a strong atheistic bent. I keep being shown where I still hold these ideas, and it has been a quiet dismantling, rather than a swift death of the "old man". He kicks still, certainly, but I am being made more aware of it than I was and, God willing, I will continue into the future for as long as I have left to do so.
Take down your idols and believe the true gospel of Jesus Christ 1.Admit you’re a sinner “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23 2. You deserve to go to hell, but Christ died for you! “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23 3. You need to repent which means a change of heart from; Lord you’re right and I’m wrong. I need you in my life. “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out” Acts 3:19 4. He promised to save you if you ask Him! “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13 Pray a simple prayer like this, there is no magic words, God is looking at your heart. If you can say this and mean it, He will forgive you: Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I’m a sinner, I have broken your laws. I’m sorry, please forgive me. Please apply your blood to my account, forgive my sins and take me to heaven. In Jesus, name. Amen.
The funny thing is that he still speaks like an Anglican.....trying tto be amusing all the time.
I am finding that Orthodoxy in the US is embracing the secular cults of diversity and antiracism. Why is it wrong for peoples to exist and to want to exist as such?
So heres the thing, as Christians we are to love one another. Putting aside national and racial differences is key and actually one of the biggest issues we find amongst ethnic parishes. The Orthodox Church is for everyone. Not just one group of people, so by allowing people of all backgrounds, regardless of what color their skin is, is truly Orthodox. We havent fallen to anything secular, rather preaching the faith as we should. Orthodoxy isnt just for Greeks, or Russians, or Bulgarians, etc. Its for all. Orthodoxy has always been about preaching and serving in the local tongue of where they reside. Look at the Russian mission to Alaska. Trying to gate keep the faith to only white Europeans is very unorthodox, and i say this as a fairly conservative white man, with Russian ancestry.
"no scythian, no jew, no greek etc, but all brothers in Christ"
What is wrong (unchristian) for peoples to exist and to want to continue existing as such? Is this natural desire heretic, sinful, satanic? Does Christianity being universalist obligate peoples to accept invasion, inter-ethnic, interracial relationships? Are people allowed to want to be among their own kind?
One of the things I have often told myself is if I wanted to be baptized as a Christian I wanted an authentic one.
I disagree.
I really needed to come across this.
I have never read any Protestant Christian books. I finally found the Orthodox Church, it is a bit like learning a new language but it is what my heart has always felt. Repentance and good works heal us and keep us.
You are missing out.
That's beautiful.

You are a beautiful man of God. I am currently an inquirer from a Protestant background and you’ve blessed me immensely, I thank God for how He has used you in your ministry. Bless you.
What a glorious Sunday, seeing those icons weeping! +++ Lord, have mercy!
God bless you, thank you for this message. So powerful yet succinctly put. As someone who has struggled with intense depression, self hatred, and feelings of hopelessness for years, this video speaks to me on a deep level.
Bros the last real man standing in the USA
Lutheran here. I find this to be a mostly fair and reasonable breakdown, and thank you for not conflating us with the low-church rock and roll movements. Most of us respect the orthodox community, although it's clear we have some differences. I think where we could all work together is combating the modernity, as well as the evolution teaching which is causing us all to bleed membership.
9/11 was an inside job.
The 9/11 story presented here is false and just an echo chamber of the mainstream narrative lies.
I have another version of the tall building story that preserves dignity sanity and reality, and it’s not yours.
Lord have mercy
This is a nice ideal. I wish it were the reality. Or, that the Church would actually hold the offending spouse accountable.
Is there any relation between Jesus and the bronze serpent in respects to the Israelites misusing the serpent?
This video brought me to tears of repentance. Thank you Father
Spiritual warfare is on an exponential increase. Prayer is always our best weapon!
Mostly correct but a few mistakes. Lutherans define ‘sacrament” very narrowly, while the Orthodox have a very broad definition of the word. I’ve heard some Orthodox teachers refuse to define any specific number or list of sacraments. Lutherans practice many of the Catholic sacraments, they just don’t use the word “sacrament” to describe them. Lutherans point out that the Episcopacy developed and became standard practice as an outgrowth of the Roman Imperial State Church and that prior to the Church becoming an instrument of the State, Presbytery ordination was not uncommon and is discussed by the Fathers. Lutherans are very much dedicated to good order and discipline in ordination and no one gets to declare himself “ordained”. While Lutherans believe that the Church Triumphant constantly prays for the Church on Earth, it is not clear that the Saints have the power to hear the prayers directed at them.
Orthodox see a sacrement as something that God's grace works through. This why we don't have a set number. We see God being able to work His grace through anything.
@@looqo7632 Which is why it’s silly to argue over a number or list; everyone needs to agree to a definition first.
How many people here are ex-Calvinist and if so, have you been told that you never were Calvinists? I see that all too much. If you truly understood, you never would have left, and if you “left”, you never truly understood and were never truly in. Calvinism is so full of circular reasoning. I’m regularly told that I’d get it if I just “read my bible”.
I'm having trouble watching this beyond 23 minutes the I'm at, because I'm not sure if the priest was getting input from the students to give them a chance to speak or if he couldn't remember what the 5 points were. Then he gave a poor explanation of covenantalism as if it were the same thing as dispensationalism . Also downplayed the calvinists litergy as if no thought is given to it, at least with the PCA and Orthodox Presbyterian church they have the regulative principal to inform what goes on in worship. Most calvinists i know are amillennial . I would be more convinced to finish listening to the orthodox arguments against calvinism if i had more confidence both sides were thoroughly understood.

Calvinism does not teach we are victims of God. Mankind is a victim of itself. Left to our own devices Man will always fall (See Adam and Eve in Genesis). Without God's intervention all would fall.
Calvinism teaches God willed us to fall
As a Roman Catholic, this is a bit confusing. You said on the one hand that it’s a myth that an orthodox Christian can marry up to 3 times, then you say the church allows it. But then you say it is “not unto salvation”. I have no idea how to reconcile those three statements. I do not want to caricature orthodoxy so please clarify- 1) does orthodoxy allow for divorce and remarrriage or is that a myth? 2) does orthodoxy recognize the second )or third) marriage as legitimate AS WELL AS the 1st or ONLY the new marriage? 3) what do you mean by “not unto salvation”? 4) given that Christ calls remarriage “adultery”, does orthodoxy agree with Him? Thanks. Peace.
This is like so important. People often tend to think about the good ol' days and the friends they had and the memories. And that eventually leads to sadness and pain. And removing oneself from the things that have happened is I think the only way, one can free one's mind from those destructive thoughts. As always, wise words from our father. Amen 🙏
Does anyone know what the name of the chant was in the beginning? It was very beautiful
I'm looking for Orthodox Anger Management Therapy, can anyone point me in the right direction?
Repression and buried anger or hurt drives the racing thoughts and safety strategies, resistance and negative self beliefs. I'm finding that the buried feeling, like anger in my case, has to be brought of out of hiding and as that gets processed, it quietens the mind and the presence of God opens up
