@@iHeartsNostalgiaPit How true! However, young me heard about how super strong he was, how perfect for the job he was, and really believed him... probably much of the reason I never made it very far! I always forget that this was a remake since this version was one of my earliest PC experiences. Good luck with your playthrough, hopefully you'll make it further than I did. ;)

So true! I believe I was actually even younger when I first played (which is why I really didn't remember much of the game). You should be able to install the game from the disks or even on archive.org. It took a few extra steps but I was able to get it up and running to relive that sweet nostalgia! ;)

+Vinny Kona I actually was playing it on my Windows 7 64-bit desktop after installing it from the original CD (yup, still have it). I believe I had to copy the contents of the install folder directly to the folder on the desktop because the installer got angry that my computer wasn't one of the expected types. Other than that, it ran fine as-is from the AMAZONII executable. The floating windows are annoying but it works

I have the CD as well but am failing at getting it run on Windows 8.1 I will try copying the contents as you did. Thank you for the response, I just subscribed =)

No problem. I forgot to mention, I copied the content of the DATA directory (and run it from the AMAZONII.EXE). I believe that after copying the folder, I also had to run the installer (from the copied folder) for DirectX5 (DX5ENG.EXE inside the DirectX folder) and the old Quicktime plugin that came with it (QT32INST.EXE inside the QTW folder) to get the executable up and running. Give those a try and it should work.

YOU ARE A GOD! I cannot tell you how long I have tried to run this. I have downloaded every operating system and ran them with virtualbox. This is such a simple way! You are awesome. Thank you so much my friend.

Yeah, the ridiculous tactics I had to resort to were awe-inspiring. I did have some runs where I tried casting Aero but it didn't help a ton and usually just drained my magic really fast (which made the rest of battle impossible). I didn't remember about the Aero upgrade at this point... that may have helped a lot (really wished I had remembered that, but I also didn't realize I could use the yellow trinity at that point either).

You couldn't; you obtained yellow trinity by completing the Hercules Cup, remember? Also, if you don't have any useful equipment that can highly increase your HP, MP, AP, or Defense, you could try searching the hidden chests in Hollow Bastion that contain ones that are pretty helpful; I mean, did you not notice in episode 64 at 7:32, there's an entryway below the two large moving platforms? Also, why would ignore getting up on that platform that moved at 8:05? You missed a secret that could've made the elevator at the lift stop near the library lead you in direction, where you'd be able to find another valuable piece of equipment. But I couldn't really blame if you had not been able to figure that out, since this game can be pretty cryptic =( still, you shouldn't have ignored it... Or perhaps you could buy a bunch of equipment that give you Fire Resistance. You could also use the Tinker Bell summon =| If worse comes to worst, you could always grind. There are more ways to make things easier, but it's hard to go into great detail at 1:15 in the morning; it's starting to get late over hear. Getting tired, plus I had a procedure this morning getting my teeth pulled out, which has made me a little sick =|

Cathal Taylor No, definitely there are a lot of items I missed that could help. The biggest problem I have is, I am very bad with navigating areas and Hollow Bastion is a very confusing maze. I did, during some runs, use fire resistant things and I did eventually realize Tinker Bell helps a bunch. I tried to avoid grinding during this run since I never had to grind my first time through on normal mode (also, grinding is just plain tedious). That's right! I remember the yellow trinity from the Hercules Cup... so yeah, that I definitely should have done at this point. Wish I had thought/knew of that before/during the fight.

But yeah, Proud Mode is so much harder than I thought it would be, especially since normal was so much easier! And believe me, the difficulty only goes up from here (there are a few worlds that are a bit easy, but a bunch that are quite a bit harder).

Thanks man, I hoped it would at least give people an idea what the game was like. Going into it, I had absolutely no idea what it was besides that it was a WWII shooter and had dinosaurs. Appreciate the feedback, been working on getting my settings all dialed in.
