Marcy Langlois is nobody’s victim. And neither are you.
Born with a cleft lip and palate, Marcy's childhood was marked by an excruciating series of surgical procedures-23 in all before the age of 18. Because she looked and talked different than other kids, she was relentlessly teased and bullied. Her journey into adulthood was marked by challenging, traumatic, and downright tragic waypoints: coming out as a queer woman, involvement in a multiple-fatality car accident, and a devastating descent into addiction and chronic illness.
Though she got off to a rough start in life, Marcy has discovered one thing: that no matter what obstacles are in your path, Living Beyond Your Limits is not just a dream-it's infinitely possible.
Your life is filled with infinite possibility. Get to know Marcy and learn how to grow, heal, and thrive so every day you're able to Live Beyond Your Limits. And get the support you deserve to understand why you should.

It's getting out of the depression and feeling like you're worthless and useless that makes this so hard. I've been stuck at rock bottom since losing my daughter and it feels impossible.

Facts. Stay away from your narcissistic family. I am busy healing.
But how??
My suggestion is to write a list of all of the people that you are upset with. Write out why you feel wronged by them. As the anger comes up FEEL IT! And then let it go! Acknowledge to yourself that you have a right to feel angry over this but that you don't need to continue to carry it. Feeling it instead of stuffing it really helps!

How do you just choose change when a trigger has your whole body reacting? I can (and am) working on the mind but that sort of physical programming is the thing I can’t seem to overcome *yet*
@@leenb.7936 I totally get it and was there for most of my life. It is retraining the nervous system. Working on getting the nervous system regulated is the key. It’s a comprehensive approach of mind, body, spirit.
yup..addict to cope.we need to sort 1 little thing each time n get a little peace..
@@nikia737 that’s right! The peace allows the recovery.
I agree with most of this. You said it beautifully and succinctly. What I don't agree with, is the letting go part. Many of us have gone through abuse, tragedies, loss, illness, pain. Some of us are still experiencing those right now. That's not something we can simply "let go." Those are problems we need to solve and then we need to heal from the wounds those problems caused. Letting it go before it's solved and healed is not letting go at all. That's burying the problem again. And that's dangerous. Please, people, if you can identify who/what damaged you, take time to solve the problem. To heal. Don't just bury it again and try to move on. If it was bad enough to ruin your life once, it won't do to just write it down and burn it. You need to do the work to solve the problems and to heal. Or it will keep hampering you for the rest of your life.
@@RadishTheFool thank you for this! I am always assuming that there is some level of healing that has taken place. Bypassing things or shoving stuff down simply doesn’t work!🙏🏼

@@Michael-fl3ey yes. I get it.Codependency is a very real thing and left untreated it is incredibly painful
@@MarcyLangloisSpeaker no because like I really never cared about my own feelings the way I did and still do for others. All my life I always felt so guilty for no reason just bcs I exist. I hate feeling that way and whenever I feel happy I feel the need to make myself feel bad again..
I am so sorry that you are suffering. If I can help in some way let me know.
So what are you supposed to be thinking about?
@@Lumosnight the mind will keep thinking but while in meditation the goal is to notice those thoughts but come back to the present moment. For example, notice- I just thought about the grocery list and now I will come back to focusing on my breath. Instead of, thinking about the grocery list, making the list in your mind, and so on.
@@MarcyLangloisSpeaker thanks for the explanation, I think the closest I get to that is concentrating during a workout
@@Lumosnight that is true for a lot of people. It is hard to be present for most folks. It took me a lot of practice to do it and it is an ongoing practice now.
Thank you! I’m glad somebody said this!!
@@justquiet1015 you’re welcome! It’s called meditation practice for a reason.
I literally can not set down the baggage from childhood trauma because trauma is trauma, and that stays with you forever until you die.
That is why you find ways to heal up the ripped parts of the bag and search for a cart to pull them on instead of carrying six full bags on your back I wish you luck.

That's not why we have intrusive thoughts lol.. we are curious creatures, just because your curiosity got the better of you and you thought of something you wouldn't do doesn't mean you're traumatized. Intrusive thoughts are healthy, what's not healthy is doing something you know you shouldn't do just for the thrill of it.
Exactly
I am talking about someone that has experienced trauma and then struggles with intrusive thoughts around the events. Sorry, my context may not have been clear.
Good for the soul, but can't actually cure medical conditions, so "heals nervous system" is a false claim
All of these things that I have listed are what I have used to facilitate the healing of my nervous system from PTSD and C-PTSD. I am not a doctor just sharing my lived experience as a recovering highly traumatized human.
