Abdul Carter is one of the few players you can confidently tag as an elite “sure thing,” so I understand that mindset. But when it comes to Mason Graham-if you knew Aaron Donald would become AARON DONALD before he became AARON DONALD, you’re not passing on that opportunity. Especially in a draft class lacking elite QB talent.

🤣 That’s one way to look at it. With the Deshaun Watson news that just dropped, I think the odds are increasing that at least one of them goes at the top of this draft class.

Abdul won’t make it to 9th overall. I mocked Mykel Williams to the Saints at 9. If QBs get overdrafted, there’s a slight possibility Abdul Carter could fall that far.

I actually had a back-and-forth discussion about the Browns last night on Twitter/X, which led to me doing a full mock draft for them. Milroe is a great possibility for the Browns at pick 33-assuming he doesn’t rise higher, which many believe he could. Will Johnson could easily be the #1 overall pick as well as Mason Graham. If Johnson falls to the Raiders, that would be a no brainer. I had CMC in a dynasty league, and right before they announced placing him on IR, I offered him, Puka Nacua, and Ricky Pearsall to the 49ers fan in our league. His roster is loaded with older vets, and I got Joe Mixon, Deebo Samuel, George Pickens, and his 2025 1st-round pick (7th overall) in return. I might even parlay that pick into Tyler Warren or Colton Loveland. I already had Gibbs and Kamara, so the moral of the story? I jumped off the CMC ship as fast as I could.

I said this last night on Twitter/X to someone else. I think we can relax on the “Drew Allar needs to declare” conversation. He still needs time to develop. While he’s improved significantly year over year, he’s not consistent enough yet. Top 10 money would be hard to pass up if it’s a real possibility, but landing in a bad situation while still underdeveloped in the NFL isn’t ideal.

I pretty much say the same thing in the video. Cam Ward is being graded very similarly to Shedeur Sanders, and there’s significant risk in drafting either of them. That said, it’s almost certain that at least one-if not both-will go in the top 10.

But how don't you not take a chance on pedigree? For example Ken Norton and Ken Norton Jr. or Terence Metcalf to DK Metcalf.

I believe it can happen. Burch is a big key, and Oregon has to stop the run without giving up explosive plays on the back end against the pass. Defensively, they’ll need to stay in two-high coverage the entire game and focus on getting Ohio State into 3rd-and-long situations, giving Burch a chance to make an impact. At this point, it feels like more of a toss-up, and as usual in a big game like this, it will come down to the trenches.

I will say, Oregon is a different animal now compared to back then. With a defensive-minded head coach, they play a more physical style of football in this era. When I made this video, I was leaning toward Ohio State. However, as the game approaches, I’m feeling more split, knowing it will ultimately come down to what matters most in Big Ten football: winning in the trenches. Ohio State’s defensive line is elite as a group, while Oregon’s is also very good. However, Oregon gave up a ton of yards against Penn State in the Big Ten Title game, which is a concern I’m focusing on. If you look at how Ohio State played against Michigan, they wanted to pound the rock between the tackles, and that approach ultimately led to their loss. Ryan Day clearly aimed to establish the run ahead of the Big Ten Title game and playoffs, knowing it would be crucial. Against Oregon, Ohio State has to dominate in the run game because Oregon is almost certainly going to play two-high coverage, just as Michigan did. The difference is that Michigan has a top-5 pick and a top-15 pick on the interior of its defensive line. Oregon’s defensive line is good, but it doesn’t compare to Michigan’s. The key question is whether Ohio State’s offensive line-which has rotated players a combined 23 times this season-can get movement up front. That’s the difference. If they can establish the run, Ohio State has a chance to win, possibly win big. If not, the game could fall on Will Howard, who will need to execute against max coverage in 3rd-and-long situations with a makeshift offensive line.
