Few in comments say that Ayesha Jalal manipulate history, we need to understand that all historian has different perspective regarding history, we all know hoodbhoy and Ishtiak Sahab has a secular ideology so they say Jinnah not wanted Pakistan etc etc, Every historian not say the things which we want to hear, their no one claim that he or she know true history, everyone see the same event in different perspectives.

Madam, the 2 pivotal points/landmarks which Pakistanis are told to be proud of are: 1. Muhammad bin Qasim of 712 AD. 2.Mughal Sultanate of 1526-1857. Phenomena of hindus conversion to muslim identity is a no-no/taboo.

Why do you write a totally wrong history of Pakistan and Islam. Pakistan is a violent terrorist nation which indulges in genocide of non muslims and non Punjabi ethnic minorities. Islam is a militant religion which believes in conversion or supression of other religions.

X X X X X X X X Muhammad was the servant of a rich old widow. She was 20 years older than her. He married her for her wealth. He was a slave trader and used to loot the caravans of non Muslims. Late he married a six year old girl. He also liked the wife of his adopted son. So he asked his adopted son to divorce his wife and married her. He also made slavery legal in Islam and allowed muslim many to marry 4 wives. He also promised Muslims men 72 virgins in Jannat.

The more I see things around in my homeland India the more satisfied I feel about the1947 partition ofBritish India when India that is Bharat was created here and Pakistan there.. dr ShyamaPrasad Mukherjee , who declared openly that ” whether u divideIndia or not but Bengal must be divided ‘ . Mr Zinna is guilty perhaps more than that drMukherjee Why donot you tell the truth of history first before you fancy history mamm.

Ayesha Jalal, speaks more as a Pakistani and particularly Jinnah apologist than a historian. I do grant her the scholarship obviously but scholarship demands transparency of thought and opinion. As an example she take umbrage with Pakistan being called a failed state and demands a standard for the failure. I suggest to her to set her sights a bit higher and out of the 3rd world ring of either colonial misfits or just plain illiterate administrators and institutions. Every Pakistani institution is failing and compromised. The corrupt army calls the shots in more ways than one. Population is out of control, malnutrition is threatening a not so bright future, illiteracy is rampant. Shall I continue Ms. Jalal?

No, Pakistan is an ideology for muslims of the subcontinent and Hazrad Allama Iqbal RA already had said in one of his verses about the separate homeland for the muslims of the subcontinent. "DEKH RAHA HOU MUSLMANOO KO AKHAIR KAR AIK HINDUSTANI MUSLIM RIYASAT BANA PARA GEE YEHEE ESS KI DAKDEER HAI"

Partition took place but there was no exchange of population because of the evil people who were our leaders , Gandhi, Nehru, and Patel. They collaborated with the British so that India would get the worse deal. We had to absorb the refugees but the majority of the Muslims stayed in India. Now they are growing and started throwing out the non-Muslims from some areas of Kashmir, Kerala and West Bengal. Expulsion of all Muslims from India in 1947 as suggested by Ambedkar should have implemented but that was opposed by the evil Gandhi. At least in India, Muslims should not have any voting right and they should be encouraged to go to Pakistan and Bangladesh with financial inducements. Present situation is highly undesirable and cannot be sustained.

Pakistan has totally discarded its Hindu, Buddhist and Sikh heritage. Mist Pakistsnis do not even know that Pakistan was a part of the empire of our Maharaja Ranjit Singh with its capital at Lahore. The history they are taught in tgeir Madarsas, Schoool , colleges and Universities starts with the conquest of Sind by Muhammad bin Kasim. People like him, Nadir Shah, Timur Lang, Babur, Mohammad Ghori, Mehmood Ghazni Ahmad Shal Abdali, Aursngzeb are glorified by Pakistan as great stalwarts of Islam.
