The 2010 Toyota Corolla makes a noise when starting the car for the first time. However, if I turn off the car and start it again, there is no noise. After driving it 10 times and parking for more than an hour, starting it again doesn't produce any noise. The noise only occurs when the car has been parked for more than 8 to 10 hours.
Yours does sound like it is having the vvti cold start rattle....its hard to know sometimes as this corolla in the video and yours they had the vvti cold start rattle requires cam gear replacement to correct and almost all of them in cold weather done what this one in the video did which is the starter being slow to retract in cold weather.
Most likely the starter that made that sound if that is what your referring to that generation Corolla and the one before that both had issues with the starters making noise like that when started during the winter time. The biggest majority if not all of them don't do it during Summer unless the starter is going bad.
