Hey brother Yusuf. I’m getting ready to leave for Washington, Missouri. It’s supposed to rain all three days. It’s raining right now.☹️. I’m bringing little jars of all the tobacco that I like, so that I can share some with people that want to try it. I wish you were here! I can’t wait to meet you in person. Love you, man.
Thanks for the VR. I subscribed to your channel now too. Appreciate you.

Thanks John. That SPC Christmas sounds really good. I'll have to check it out.

Definitely not an aromatic for me, either. Your idea sounds good…have you started experimenting?

Erin go Bragh St. Patrick's Day is one of my favorite holidays. I just viewed a Peterson Rustic green briar I'm thinking I should get for St. Patrick's Day and should find an Irish blend to use in it. I've used a pipe for more than 50 years but have always had Dr Grabows or Missouri Meashams from a cardboard display but since I stumbled on to you guys in the YTPC I've given in to the urge I've always had to get some fine pipes. Works of art that I like to look at as well as smoke. Also, I've started this new channel "Old Adirondack Codger" to separate my YTPC and Classic Camping subscriptions from the others I have. Since I've commented to you only under the other channel I copied this comment and resent it form this one and continue to use this one. I enjoyed your interview with Perkins Pipes. Maybe someday, if I feel brave enough, I will make a video. Anyway, thanks for all the inspiration.
@@OldAdirondackCodger thank you for your wonderful and thoughtful comment. You should try making some videos using your phone. It’s really simple. You can always delete it if you don’t like it. that’s the one thing that got me going, is knowing that if I didn’t care for it or I looked stupid or whatever I could delete that one and try again. You have a blessed week, my friend. I subscribed to your channel, just in case.

The plum pudding sounds like it would be very good. I’m not much of an aromatic smoker, but that plum pudding does sound like it would be a very nice smoke. You have a great day.
@@TruckingPiper it is very good. I do not like any aromatics. I don’t really consider this an aromatic. I think the only flavoring it has is just the fact that the barrel it was stored in imparts an aroma.

Hey John - great and complex discussion - I hope people can understand what you are saying! I think we suffer from "too hard to understand" or "too big for me to get involved."
@@PiperDave2023 That was probably my engineer coming out. lol. The main thing I was trying to get across is we need to repent and pray. Also, we need to question everything that we hear and see.

Now we just need to search the scriptures to learn how to deal with it all. Speaking of searching, one of my Dr Grabows cracked so I thought I would spring for an upgrade, so I did an eBay search for a Savinelli 673-ks. They range from $106 to $263. Do you know why there is such a difference in prices.
@@sgd3805 the smooth ones with really good grain patterns are the most expensive. The sandblasted or rusticated are the least expensive because they don’t have to have as pretty briar. Look on smokingpipes.com’s website and you’ll see the same thing.
@@sgd3805 have the 673 KS great pipe, save a few bucks look at the Morgan Bones pipes. Just got my second. Personally I think they smoke as well as the Savinelli and Peterson pipes. But at a lower price. They come in the natural briar, when smoke the take on a color from tobacco and oil in your hands. They are great smokers and good looking pipes. Check them our
My parents grew up during the depression. After WWII, my parents rationalized that they would both work so my brother and I could have the things their parents couldn’t afford when they were growing up. Today, both parents have to work just to make ends meet. My wife didn’t work the first 20 years of our marriage. She took a part-time job in 2010 when my company had a reduction in force (RIF), and I had to take a cut in pay. She worked 14 years until my salary alone was able to meet our needs. We have been married 34 years and our only debt during those years was our mortgage. We have never had credit card debt. We have never had a car loan to pay off. If we didn’t have the money to buy something, we saved up until we did. And we never tried to “keep up with the Joneses (buying things we didn’t need, with money we didn’t have, to impress people we didn’t like). Now that the house paid off, we have zero debt. For us, freedom is having no debt and having money to help others.

I agree with some of your analysis. My assessment is that there have been two primary downward pressures on wages, which caused both Fathers and Mothers to work...1- the downfall of union based collective bargaining; and 2- globalization/outsourcing jobs.
@@MarlinPiper2024 That’s a very interesting theory.
@@JohnsPipeJourney since collective bargaining stopped, CEO and Executive C level pay skyrocketed and worker pay has been suppressed. The average wage to CEO pay multiple has skyrocketed over the last 40-50 years. Collective bargaining used to keep that closer. Instead of CEOs making 30-50 million (even when companies are struggling), they would have had to get by on 1-5 million and the remainder would have gone toward enhanced worker pay contracts (just one example). I am a huge capitalist (e.g., stock market, etc., but guard rails and a strong middle class are so important.
