Thanks! Agree, Archers are great planes as well, did my IFR in Archer very forgiving aircraft. Sierra is definitely a cozy cabin, wider than most aircraft... Really enjoy it..

Hi Acc0rd79 - I purchased this Sierra C24R in September 2019 and love it. It is the most spacious GA aircraft I have flown in so far. They well built and feel more substantial than your Pipers PA28 or Cessna 172s, Consider spending the $50/yr to join Beech Aero Club (www.beechaeroclub.org/) before you purchase a Sierra, look for a document called Mouse Hunt on their website, it will tell you what to look for during your search like issues or ADs. Their forum is also very helpful. Hope this helps...

@@mmathews1976 I know this is a super late response but I did end up buying it and it's back here in Florida now. Sadly I have been having problems find a CFI who can give me my 15 hours with the mandatory insurance. Even my CFI from my instrument training didn't have what they wanted. I am dropping that insurance company so fast as soon as the year is up, nothing but a headache trying to fly my own plane!! uggh I did join the beech aero club and the plane is in mint shape! Just don't get me started on the stupid insurance company.

@@Acc0rd79 try Avemco or LL John’s in Waterford Michigan, LL John’s was around 1,700 a year when prepaid, not cheep, but also for a complex pretty competitive i suppose.

@@markmathews6325 I know this is again a late response but I had to pay 3900 up front for insurance through Falcon insurance. I am about to dump them because I am still not able to fly the damn plane and I'm just about over it because No one here has time in type that the insurance requires. I didn't spend all that plus 454 hangar fee per month to let it sit and rot away. I will NEVER use Falcon insurance again, horrible company. I have 2 more leads on CFIs so I am hopeful in the next 2 weeks I can fly it but I've had the plane since October and can't even fly it. I start it up and taxi it but that's all i do. I'm starting to wish I had purchased an arrow instead because it's easy to get signed off in one.

@@Acc0rd79 ever get a cfi who was qualified? I'm looking into getting my PPL eventually and MAYBE buy my own plane. Even if its a 150/172

I've seen riders of all skill level ride hare scrambles; it's never too late to try one. They are a lot of fun and sometimes technical. I like them because I burn a lot of caleries :).

The second time thru, there was a trail off to the right of this hill. That was very easy... I heard the bypass saved allot of time, not sure how much. It wasn't all the bad after the first time thru...

Chris, looking at your race results right now, VERY NICE. Just one suggestion, when running the 3 hour race, get some two GU gels and tape it to your handle bars. I prefer Roctane GU, it prevents muscle cramping and helps give a boost right around that 1 1/2 or 2 hours when I think i'm gonna run out of steam. Hope this help, Good luck and have fun!!!

Thanks Troy! I currently ride a 2015, KTM 300 exc-w, 106 F Class (3 hour race), bought it after my first 1/2 year of trying out hare scrambles. Started racing hare scrambles in 2014 riding a older 2003 KTM 200 exc in the R Class to see if i'd like racing these kinds of races - AND LOVED IT. Harescrambles are cool, go fast or slow and you'll have fun either way... Plus everyone is very welcoming! I would like to try a few Enduros in 2017 - Mark

Mark- I currently ride a 2000 exc 200- AND have thought alot about the 300 as well.... I havent rode one although. I know the basic differences between the two bikes but am worried the 300 may be too much for me (I think i'm probably overthinking it but....!)- I am 6'1"/195lbs, so my size is good for a 300, can you elaborate a little bit on how owning them both has been? Is the 300 to much for the tight woods sections of these michigan hare scrambles? I'd appreciate it very much! I think in my head I may be expecting the 300 to turn like a tank and hit its powerband like a mule compared's to my 200 lol.

Troy - power band wise the 300 is pretty docile compared to the 200, think you'd like it... When I had my ktm 200 it felt slightly lighter in the trails, but I had to ride it harder to get thru the same terrain 'this could have been the age of the bike too it was a 2003'. I found the 300 to be easier to ride due to additional torque and you could ride it in the lower rpm range, the power is definitely there, but not overwhelming. Power is very linear..

Hi Brad, at this time - not really, just was cautious not to do anything stupid. It had been 6-7 months since my ACL injury in 2015. Over the winter I purchased a POD Mx knee brace which offered the knee support so I could race the 2016 season, which I did 'really' enjoy. Got thru the whole season minus the last race or two so I would get my ortho surgury in sept 2016, after 2.5 months physical therapy I'm almost new again!. FYI- Knee injuries really suck... Spend the money, get knee braces and protect them!

Guess I did, but it took almost a whole lap to pass him. Kind of funny, you noticed that, because I totally got passed by Robert Ratliff (#336 F class) at exactly the same moment. I always remember how fast his 4 stroke seemed in that moment, he just blew right by me... LOL

Jeff, that great. hare scrambles are really fun and kind of technical too. Be sure to bring a go pro and record your first race, those are always the most memorable!
