I love this pool cover, its much better than the ones that are level with the pool. Those ones drag the blanket across the edge of the pool

What is the benefit of hanging the roller off the trap door as opposed to fixing it onto the subframe and having a lightweight trapdoor covering it?
I'm in the south of France, looking to do something like Michael built. I like your idea of the light-weight trap door to avoid the complexity of the struts. Have you built it?
