they are very heavy
the clip gave a tip to correct sagging sides of the swag - by adding guy cords at each corner, attached to the U struts roughly half way between the top and the ground. Works brilliantly. Greatly reduced the sag and gave lots more internal volume to the swag. I attached the cords not directly to the U struts (which would mean the cord would have to be retied each time) but to the canvas loops holding the retaining clips for the U strut (which means the guy cord can be left in place each time the swag is packed up).
Well done mate looks great and you have everything you need. Safe travels.
awesome, another great video. That Triton was doing it tough there so I'd have no chance, I don't even have diff locks on mine. Fun to watch all the planning and attempts, cheers
Some good tracks out there!
We'll have to take you out sometime!
Thanks for the video, guys! Nice music, too! I'm in Brisbane Northside, and was thinking about a simple track for my Delica D5 to have a weekend drive with the kids; this video comes in handy. I'll try to find the tracks you've mentioned 😊 I've subscribed and looking forward to seeing new videos! Cheers!
No worries at all, thanks for watching! There are all sorts of tracks out there from mild to wild. I'd recommend tagging along with someone that knows the area and avoid after heavy rain, it gets real slippery out there.
Looks like some fun to be had, I am not attending the Corroboree, bummer. I hear they are great events, one day lol
Yeah there are a lot of tracks out there. I just went and did a black track with the club, I'll try and get that video out in the next few weeks. It was fun! First time for Corroboree for me too, we'll be there filming the event, to the best of our abilities haha ~ Matto
What size Hydrulic Lugs did you use, mine always flair out the sides,,Cheers
From memory I used the 10mm and just did like half crimp and then rotated the lug around and crimped again. Sometime I get the tags too, I just roll it around and crimp again. Thanks for watching!
Clay is certainly different in the wet
For sure, it can get quite dicey pretty quick!
Cheers guys, I really should join a 4WD club and learn a bit more about this sort of stuff. If only there was unlimited hours in the day! Looked like fun and I reckon my bog crappy base model triton might have even had a fair crack ✌🏻
Nothin frightens a Triton! I did a black track weekend before last and our trip leader has a Triton, they go good, went just about the whole way on a black track (next level harder) and only got stuck on a steep hill when it diffed out. I hear ya, another 12 hours per day would nearly do it haha! ~ Matto
Tx guys. I've got a 2014 Forrester. Tough track for my car (but I could be wrong). Nice vid.
If you had a bit of lift and decent all terrain tyres (would want to go up a few sizes) and rated recovery points, you'd be able to do that track. And if you got hung up, just a quick snatch would get you out real quick. Thanks for watching!
Problem is you have an imperial shifter you need to buy a metric one.
Ah, that's what it was! I tried to find my left handed one to undo the nuts but couldn't find it. 😁 Thanks for watching!
With the saggy sides, much like the rope, I used 2 occy straps on each end and connected it to the peg in the ground. easy, hooks on, no knots. that and the water pipe would be mint.
Yep, occy straps work a treat as well. The pipe was a game changer. Thanks for watching!
No one ever shows nipple up or down on what side 🤦🏼♂️
Hi mate, the Anderson plugs have markings for 'pos' and 'neg' and the plug only goes in one way. When the '+' and '-' facing up the lug goes in with the nipple up and the lip down so it clips over the spring. Thanks for watching
looking good. Great little series this, when are you starting work on that green Escort? Mate of mine had one when we were 18, too much fun!
Thank you! Yeah the escort is an ongoing project.
AWESOME !! and the can buddy, how cool is that
Thanks! Yeah the Can Buddy's are mint, if you order one let them know you saw it from us, we don't get kick backs just cool to note.
Great build, I'm planning mine and have picked up loads of ideas from your build series videos. Thanks !
No worries, thanks for watching!
Really impressive build buddy, awesome job❤ you should be very proud of yourself, hey r u doing merchandise soon?
Thank you! We can arrange some merch. We have Velcro patches now, and looking at hats. We can get shirts printed easy as, same as what we wear. If you like, shoot us an email and we can arrange something for ya. Email is in the about section on our page or message us on Facebook, same name as channel.
well done on the finished product - where did you get those outside touch lights?
Thank you! They were just bought off eBay.
Awesome build Gaz!
Thank you kindly
Lovely ep and awesome set up, Not sure if you said in previous eps, Did you vent the Battery compartment to the outside for the new rules now on Lithium batteries.
Thank you! The battery is in it's own battery battery box, separate to the 'cabin'
Cool vid. Chase......
Thank you 🙏😀👍
I love it! hope to see ya camp out of that beauty!
Thank you! We've got some trips planned, got a few things to tidy up before getting back out. Thanks for dropping by!
CHASE haha
😀👍
Nothing better buddy, chase ❤
🙏😁👍
good bit of fun. Wish I had enough time on my hands to find a good club and learn more about driving these sorts of tracks. Keep these coming! ✌🏻
Will do! If you're ever up in SEQ give us a buzz and we'll take you out!
Trails out there look great!
Lots of fun out there and doesn't matter if you've got a standard vehicle or a full comp spec rig.
Chase
😁👍
Hey mate how long does that gas cylinder last you
Hey mate, supposed to be a few hours worth of showering, to be honest we haven't run out yet.
Hi does the companion allow for non heated water ? Specially in summer?
There is a temperature dial that you can use but I believe it will still warm the water a little. Thanks for watching!
Looks awesome
Thank you!
No mate they don't make one that you can fill up, however there is adaptors available to refill them from 9kg gas bottle but I've found it only fills them to about 80 percent when I worked out weight new full one and then one I filled myself
Yeah, pretty sure it's not legal in Australia to refill those disposable canisters but it would make sense to have refillable ones, it would be more environmentally friendly. Thanks for watching!
@@ChaseTheWeekend Yeah mate its a grey area I live in Aus born and breed but I'm with you mate refill recycle over throwing them out
What a fantastic build, and its all ozzie stuff, a great job mate, I hope to get some good tips from your excellent job, Thank you.
No worries, thank you!
Fantastic !! great watching it come together
Thank you! Cheers!
Seriously use a M6 thread tap in all Rivet Nuts. During manufacturing a burr develops, use the thread tap to clear the burr otherwise the bolts will cease mid thread.
Great tip, thank you!
You little beauty. So much thought went into it and it has paid off 🎉
It's pretty cool for sure, just need to give it a good workout and take it camping!
Superb work Gaz. Wish I could do something like that!
Just got to give it a crack, trying to talk Matt in to doing one too :)
great stuff, mind you, all it does is shows me how much I don't know about building a van. Good luck with the final stage, looking pretty bloody good ✌🏻
Thank you! There is a bit that goes into it but once you get your head around it, it's not too bad 😀
Impressive bro, being able to weld is such a valuable asset, something I’d love to learn, u always say chase the weekend but I can never catch it😂
😂 It's the chasing bit that we get stuck with too, it's more about not letting our spare time slip away. Welding is one of those things that is really practice makes perfect, some of us like me (Matt) need lots of practice haha. It's a great skill to learn and if you're serious pretty sure there are like 1 week TAFE courses that anyone can do. Happy Chasing!
Mate - Fantastic & helpful video. It looks great. Cheers.
Thank you, it's come up a treat!
Great work Gaz!
Thank you! Cheers!
yeah nah---ill solder mine
No worries! Solder is fine too, I'm just not a super fan of using it on flex.
In the Aviation world we don’t solder ANY wiring connections for exactly the reasons he mentioned
in colder weather if your turning it on and off dose it hit you with a spray of cold when you turn it on each time before it heats up?
Not if the time between uses is quick, consecutive showers are fine, doesn't cool off too quick however we haven't used it in super cold areas, in the snow would be a different storey haha, Thanks for watching!
wish the pump was built into the unit so we could just use a hose fitting to connect it to a water tank
Yes agree, if they could squeeze one it it would make a great product even better!
Hey man this is looking great. Are you able to link me up with the Skylight supplier?
Hi mate, I'll check with Gaz and get back to you. Pretty sure he isn't running a skylight on this one. The windows he got as factory seconds, doors brand new, rear door was DIY.
Hey mate I didn’t see where you used the nuts with the wire on them? Where abouts did you use them?
Hey mate, don't think I ended up using them as I was able to use the factory mounting holes and captive nuts. Usually the nuts with the wires are for up inside the chassis rails so you can hold onto them while getting the bolts started.
Great tips, guys! I just ordered a 23Zero from a company here in the states. I can’t wait to start camping with it!
Excellent! 23 Zero make some good gear.
Very nice sir
Thank you very much!
This isn't a camper, it's a caravan.
Its a caravan for ants haha (Zoolander reference)
Bloomin Marvellous
Thank you!
