This webinar provides an overview of the Content Information Type Specification (CITS) for 3D Product Model data (3DPM). 3DPM is the latest specification from the family of 3D-related CITS developed by the eArchiving Initiative.
Content Information Type Specifications (CITS) build on the common and package eArchiving specifications to provide specific requirements and guidance for creating conformant, interoperable packages for particular information types.
This introduction will explain 3DPM’s foundation on the existing international standards STEP (ISO 10103) and LOTAR (EN 9300), the use cases it supports within the engineering/product design domain and how additional information to support these standards is accommodated in eArchiving packages. In particular, it focuses on the key authenticity issues through validation, verification and digital signatures. It shows how the PREMIS standard is used to record evidence of this authenticity in line with existing eArchiving rules for its use.
This webinar is suitable for those who wish to understand how the CITS 3DPM can be used in eArchiving systems to achieve interoperability of 3D Product Model data. It also provides insights on how you can receive support for its application and contribute to its further development. The webinar is presented by Stephen Mackey of the eArchiving Consortium and Penwern Limited.
