Nice
I really enjoy the treasure hunting portion of your channel. Would love to see how things are repurposed. Follow your gut on the direction you are going. Love you
@@lheilman thank you! I think it can work. I’m small enough still that it’s not like sponsors are watching my numbers. So I think I will just forge ahead, for now!
I am glad the floss was used. Interesting that jewelry making could use floss.
@@lheilman I *think* that’s right but honestly I didn’t think of it until I was recording the “what happened with it” segment. I honestly don’t know now if it would hold up. I think there’s a line to be drawn (and everyone’s will be different) between trying to salvage/reuse *everything* and getting through projects.
Ya, I’d definitely still use floss past its “expiration” date. I probably already have, since I never even noticed the date on there 😅
@@ScienceisRadAF samsies! I never noticed it either.
I also use small rocks. It. I think they Help save on Media. It is a headache when they get very small. I enjoyed your video. Thank you for sharing.
@@SissyMchill1 thanks for watching! Sometimes you get the most exquisite details on the little specimens. It’s just…tedious doing all that four times or more! :)
This is fun! I never look at my rocks to separate… I just rinse and throw in the next stage.. maybe I should be looking.
@@lheilman with the dual barrel tumbler, I often am running stage 1 and graduating them until I have enough for stage two. Then I usually finish them out. But I find with stage one, rocks need widely varying times depending on where they came from, what type they are, etc.
It would be perfect for making a little creature out of rocks, so cute!!! Every rock shown was beautiful, but that one tickles my heart!
I have an "ear" I found on another trip. (I'll link it here if I can...) I've certainly thought about stuff like that-would be fun to see what kind of rock beast I could create. (Or, maybe we work on it together?) th-cam.com/video/-PwfZe-eDHE/w-d-xo.html (this is the vid with the ear)
12:15 The white rock with the little mouth is my favorite! Thank you for showing us some of your treasures!
It's funny, I totally forgot about that one, but it is kinda silly/cute, isn't it?!
Love all the stripey rocks! And that canary yellow rock💛
@@missy2j I feel like I’m gonna have to start collecting more of the striped ones! Collecting and tumbling.
Love your rocks 🪨 hunting 😊
@@1013AM thank you!
gonna have to practice with the camera a little more haha nice finds!
@@butchthebullbro you’re not wrong! I honestly don’t know why those first shots were so blurry (still!) So who knows what I did wrong there. But I don’t think it’s happened much, if at all, since then. The footage I’m capturing nowadays is much better. Part of me wants to skip ahead in my footage/projects but then I think I would end up Not using a lot of stuff I put loads of energy into. Think I’ll just carry on for now! (But rest assured, like this video, my recording gets better the farther we go.) Thanks for watching and commenting. -T
If you want leaf fossils in Washington go to slide mountian in Whatcom county
Yes, regular TH-cam posts are a challenge. And then other things in life happens. Best wishes to you! And good luck with your dog recovering.
This says washington and oregon. What area? The gorge maybe?
Ish. :D It's private access, so I'm going to be vague about the exact location. I will likely always be pretty vague about locations, for reasons.
I love the poo ceramic and that you sent me a picture of it instead of buying!
@@lheilman it’s a great option. Love that technology helps us do that these days!
I love that you sharing your passion with us!
@@lheilman I love sharing it! It definitely is exciting. We had a FABULOUS hunt today. It will be awhile before that shows up on the channel but man was it good. You can always follow me on instagram for more up to date adventures too.
For TH-cam, it is best to dedicate your channel to just one niche. There is an audience for rock hounding, and another for thrifting, and another for wildlife. Most people will not want a channel with 2- or- 3 completely different topics. They just want one topic, and will not be interested in the others (affecting your viewer analytics, and confusing TH-cam on how to promote your channel). It is fine to try more than one topic at first-and then decide which topic you like more (or which topic seems to be getting more traction). Look at channels with topics you like, and how large their audiences are, and how they cover their topics. You can make more than one channel too, but I recommend only one b/c just one channel will keep you more than busy.
Fuel pellet bags! Woot
@@lheilman ikr? I thought of you when I saw that!
Time for me to make that trip too!
@@missy2j it’s pretty satisfying to get it to where it’s supposed to go! (Also when I didn’t know which video this comment was posted to I thought “that trip” was maybe up the gorge. ;)

Fun video! Good ideas and information for up cycling and reuse.
@@lheilman I’m excited to release some of the results videos for these various items!
Thank you for cleaning up the trash. Talk about leaving nature better than when you found it. You've got me excited to see if I'm learning how to spot what you're seeing. How fun. Teaching me to look around at the world a little differently. ❤ Also, so funny on the "ok, so"... I do this a lot too... Hi, Terra! So excited for you. I look forward to seeing your videos!
@@JuanMaldonadoPDX thank you! There’s lots “in the can” now just need to edit and post! :)
Congratulations on your exciting venture. We're traversing a strangely similar path, even down to timelines and positions. So you have my support and I know just how much courage and drive you're putting into this! Will be here to see you thrive!
@@AtomicAmy awesome! Tell me more! I feel like I’ve already found some amazing people by doing this. Excited to see what else is coming my way!
@@AtomicAmy weird. I had a comment and then it got deleted. Tell me more! I’m curious how our paths are similar! Thank you for tuning in and your support.
@@TerrasTreasure You mentioned running a repair program and that it lost funding about a year ago, as I'm writing this on the 12th. My route is similar, but a little different in that I had worked with a non-profit organization for 7 years and it finally lost the funding it needed to survive. That happened last year, and while I had a bit of a segue to another position, unfortunately, the ominous changes that I think were happening across the board in tech also caught up to the other organization I had "moved over to". And roughly around this time last year. I'm still making ends meet (comfortably) as a gig worker in tech, but my heart is now chasing storytelling and writing. It's different, but similar, because based on what you're describing as your thought process, the work you've been putting into this--which we have yet to see, because yeah, it's an amazing process that you're undergoing right now, to take your whirlwind of hopes, dreams, and you, and then invest in that through time, resources, tears, faith etc.--so I just have to say I recognize the path your taking in a sense. It's also funny because around October is really when I began to commit to writing in a more serious and determined manner. So, just some interesting timeline similariities. There are many TH-camrs who I have discovered even in just the past year that have risen to exciting levels of viewership and impact, so I know that you can easily do the same. I know that I will enjoy learning all kinds of cool stuff I've never known before through your journey.
@@AtomicAmy this is awesome. I wish you the best too! I wish everyone could just comfortably pursue art or service or whatever calls to them. I’m trying to keep my expectations realistic and just do this because it’s something I feel I need to do. I’m loving the creative process and learning new things. I’ve always loved to learn new things! And honestly, I’m so happily surprised by the support I’ve gotten so far. I briefly had another TH-cam channel in my past and I just feel so much more grounded this time around. My creativity is surprising me. I guess good things come when you let yourself believe in good things!
Hooray! Looking forward to watching your adventures and seeing what treasures you find. Happy hunting!
@@missy2j I’ve found some good stuff I’m excited to share. I also am just really enjoying the creative process. It’s fun to be thinking up new ideas for projects and treasure hunts and videos for the future. The video editing is so fun too. (If time consuming!)
