This is sooo helpful. Cool to see the collaboration.
Was he on the paid version of loveable
Yes, he was using the paid version of Lovable
@@spreadaioliOkay thank you
@@Gamer_KxngI was on the cheapest plan and was able to build a ton of the site with those monthly credits but I did upgrade to the 2nd tier yesterday. You get a certain number of prompts per month with each plan so if you build something complex you may need to upgrade. It’s very much worth it though!
I would absolutely use it! Thanks for sharing this!🤓
What’s the difference if I just do a wix and plug in the information
Brilliant, a great video, very interesting, thank you 😃
Is there a way to export the code or files to a hosting company such as Hostinger?
Yes, you can export and download the code
you can also just send it to github, and then to vercel. vercel will do the hosting. if you want to make changes, you can either connect a database like what she did with supabase, or just change the code in github and make sure it updates in real time to your vercel site. still learning myself, but that seems to be the easy route if you are new to hosting, etc.
This is a super helpful video. i've been looking for vids on how to connect a database to v0 dev and while this is on lovable, it's super helpful. i was afraid i was going to have to update blog articles and add new businesses directly into the code but no i can see the light. i'm a designer wading into the waters of ai assisted dev and for the first time can bring my ideas to reality without outsourcing to other people. we are in amazing times! thank you!
Wyatt here (the guest from the video), you can totally do this! We just recorded this video earlier this week and since then I've been able to continue to develop and refine the site using the knowledge I gained from the session with Meg. Go get after it! :)
Thanks for your comment, so glad to hear this helped you. Yeah, I'm in the same boat where I didn't want to outsource to people, and these tools are truly powerful enough to DIY it. Expertise + AI assisted dev = the new way
@@spreadaioli Definitely! I am an obsessive researcher and have watched countless videos on ai building in lovable and vo, but hardly anyone has gone further into the "What next" part. Coming from the wordpress side of things, i had no idea what a database is, how to use github, rate limits, etc. I know how to do prompt engineering like an expert so building a beautiful site with words is second nature, but then what? It's the missing piece to full adoption. I know I'm not the only one looking for resources like this. Thanks! There's a lot of demand for people who explain things like this well. Keep it up!
@@Dubya1886 Thanks. i think my previous reply was deleted. not sure why. Anyway, good luck.
Great content! When it comes to building out a directory, what is your long term approach to ranking the site on Google with it being built on Lovable? I’ve looked into directories and have looked into using Wordpress because of all the SEO plugins you can use.
Great video, thank you!!
"Great video! I find No-Code applications like Lovable and Bolt excellent for front-end builds, but they do have limitations when it comes to more complex build-outs. This is where tools like Cursor or VS code can really assist. Additionally, using CLINE can significantly speed up the build process."
i am just searching for AI code assistant like GitHub copilot. do bolt do the same thing? is it works in vs code?
Your content is incredible, please keep sharing your developments!
Excellent information, thank you 😃
Would actually love to have you look.at my website 😢 im pretty sure it sucks because i get no sales lol but i made it using windsurf and yeah jusy i dont think its right but no idea what to change or improve!!
I don't think you ever designed websites. Number one reason people on follow or block someone if they use clickbait tactics
I've been designing websites for years. I'm confident in the value this video provides. Let me know if you have any other questions. 🤙🏻
Why the annoying bell sounds. Crazy
Yesss V0 is great! I also have multiple squarespace sites that are eating up my wallet 😭 planning to slowly replace ‘em too with these awesome AI tools
Great info :) Thank you!
Amazing video. Keep posting more like this one
Thanks! I will
As a owner of a directory using wordpress, scraping, and programmatic SEO, i have no idea what just happened 😂
This is brilliant. How do you come up with those initial ideas first saas though
Just watched this at work first pass and this video is GREAT! Will be re-watching and giving this a try myself later. Love the content and I cant wait to check out more videos!
Thank you so much! Let me know if you have any questions that I can address in future videos :)
Out of curiosity, do you go into Wordpress after this and add to it on the back end from there or do you go into the file manager and do everything from there....or through cursor, vercel or bolt?
I use Supabase to manage my listings! Via Cursor AI. I'll be posting a video about this soon!
Thanks! Good info
great video - Subscribed! and the incremental MVP Prompt technique/pattern is worth restating 1. base prompt 2. base correction prompt 3. new feature prompt 4. new feature correction prompt 1. One fairly chunky base prompt to get the base site built (no advanced features or design complexity) 2. Iterate with follow-up correction prompt - get the core functionality solid 3. first targeted new feature prompt 4. new feature correction prompt 5. next new feature etc.. general question: when and why do you hop to Cursor - I know "why" but what's the development threshold? - how much can/should you get away with in Bolt?
Good and valuable content - I think. Audio level drops way too low after first intro seconds. Please cheack quality of your video/audio, by considering the Worst Viewer listening situation - on a noisy bus (even with ear buds), in a car with open window, walking on city street. (I can't believe how many cities they have installed in people's lives in the U.S. Right? :-) Slow your speech to a calm steady flow. People need time to ingest ideas and associate words to your ideas. Thanks for posting. Free audio tools to "normalize" audio level can help too.
This is awesome.
Great video, in the end what is the conclusion? If we are trying to build an AI Job Board, what will you recommend from your experience?
@@DanZL1 thanks Dan! I am loving lovable.dev for now - I think you could build a job board out with that tool pretty efficiently
where is prompt? i joined ai-app-launchpad
Here's the link to the prompt: spreadaioli.gumroad.com/l/directory-prompt
Meg this is awesome, I just grabbed the prompt to sample it and build my own. This is super impressive, I was already considering building a directory and this would make it 1000x faster than the way I was considering. Thank you!
Wow, amazing to hear! Yeah, isn't it wild how fast this spins up a directory? I look forward to seeing your directory- drop the link here when it's ready!
Meg, this is great. I am glad I discovered your channel. There is a certain simplicity to it. Thank you for the tutorials. I would love to email you with a few questions but here are some questions for you. I am new to AI assisted coding and coding but I can grasp it faster than non AI coding. I see a lot of people still building directory sites with WP. Are you planning on monetizing your directories ? If so, how will you do it? Can you make a video on all the tools that one needs to start AI assisted coding and building? How much do they cost and so on. I need to grasp this in a couple of months too. :). Thank you for the reply.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! I posted a few videos after this one that answer some of these questions, and I will continue to do more comprehensive videos to explain monetization. Here's a link to the video I made on comparing tools for getting started: th-cam.com/video/HSD6XK0Jbrg/w-d-xo.html
@@spreadaioli Thank you :) .
@@spreadaioli You are welcome. I am a bit torn between WP and hardcoding by AI. I am gravitating towards AI or Kadence theme. What language AI codes in? How well is the site coded and so on ? I am sure they will get more sophisticated by the hour.... I see one of the directory owners is following you, he is using Elementor. Elementor is ancient Egypt compared to this.
Great to see comparison of these tools side by side. Looks like you have a paid subscription of Cursor-Ai, do you think it is worth upgrading to paid plan on bolt-new, lovable-dev or v0-dev.
For now, the paid Cursor subscription is sufficient for my needs. But if you love a tool enough, I think it's worth the subscription! I have paid for bolt.new in the past
@@spreadaioli Thank you for replying. I found bolt-diy project which is available as open-source self-hosted software comparable to bolt-new. I have not tested it yet.
This is such a gamechagnger! I just used this code and it's awesome. Thanks Meg!
@@hudgonsphotography glad to hear it worked well for you! Thanks for your comment and let me know if you have any other questions I can address in future videos
Hello, new sub where can I find the prompt
Thanks for reminding me! Just added it to the description but can also be found at spreadaioli.gumroad.com/l/directory-prompt
Love this long form format! So inspiring knowing you learned all this in 3 months. Would love to see the data input through supabase ✌️
@@FreyChu thanks Frey! I’ll film that tomorrow so I can populate this directory :) look out for the video tomorrow!
Oh hey Frey :)
@@spreadaioli hey - did you end up doing this follow up?
@@rahulawtaney8221 I posted a video yesterday doing a live build where we put in real data into Supabase! Here's the link: th-cam.com/video/q6qIn9fUWbQ/w-d-xo.html
I really like your idea. keep it up!
Hahhaa ok
Low budget Data collection scraping etc vs no budget. Low budget project completion vs. no budget project completion with all details so people can accurately plan out from creating a wireframe all the way to their first 10 clients subscriptions. Marketing optional but no one has done this in case study format without a paywall/paygate. Theres a lot of info out there but rarely is it in an organized manner from beginning to end showing ifyou can truly finish a project to production without fully committing to a software only to find out 4-5 others do it slightly better or more efficient. I have seen folks demonstrate free versions and show their completed projects that were clearly finished on the paid versions and i understand there needs to be some incentive on the back end but for new people entering the space it can get very cloudy mixed with a lot of trial and error with wasted $ and time. This counts for non ai, partial ai and full ai projects
Ooh this is great. Thanks for the thoughtful comment. I am not paid or sponsored by any companies or tools so I’m willing to share my experience honestly without pitching for ad purposes. My current workflow leverages only free tools (with the exception of Cursor AI which does give a generous 2 week pro trial - a period in which it would be possible to complete a full stack app now). You just need to have a REALLY solid, well-thought out plan so that no time is wasted in the iterative process.
Too many tools. Too much hype. I don’t want to learn a tool that’s out of fashion in a month by the next “INSANE” update or tool. I like track record and consistency. I’m open to trying new, but it’s hard to tell what’s actually revolutionary. There’s so much noise. I don’t have time to watch 30 NEW TH-cam videos a day, much less waste my time on an AI coding assistant, for example, that does something I can just do myself much better, using the latest updates of frameworks and libraries, not the version from last year that’s no longer best practice.
@@EsparzaFed this is a perfect response! Thank you so much, this is very helpful. I am trying to work on a solution with this at the forefront of my mind :)
@@spreadaioliYes, I’m well aware. If only there were a platform that helped me get to the low hanging fruit of AI, that guides me to the easy wins; some place reliable that cuts through all the fads and noise. If only 😂
I'm a developer, and I just learnt a ton from you!! You're doing an amazing job!! keep up the great work!
Thanks so much for the feedback! I really appreciate it
Cool stuff
I swear this is me working through a project, except with a few swear words thrown in
What you build in less than 30 minutes is impressive. Question: you start this project with bolt-new and then move to cursor ai. What I want to know - is cursor ai not capable of initiating a project like bolt-new does?
That’s a great question and I’ve been wondering the same lately. I’ll test it out to see the difference in results using the same prompt. The reason I like to start in bolt.new is because it integrates with Supabase right off the bat (whereas Cursor AI’s process for integration is slightly more manual). I think bolt.new is beginner friendly and more approachable for a non-technical individual trying to get their feet wet with app development
How would you get traffic to this directory though? That is the hard part, getting the actual targeted visitors
I’ll do a follow up video for this! My professional background is in digital marketing and I have done this for many brands over last ten years. Now I’m doing it for my own projects! Thanks for your comment
@@spreadaiolithis would be awesome 🙌 thank you .
@@spreadaioliman I would love to see that. I’ve been wanting to build relevant directories for some of my client sites, other marketers I know but also lead gen in future. Look forward to seeing this! So glad you hit my recommended vids!
I like you going through the process showing what a normal user will face.
great video, Meg! Do you think is possible to build a web code editor with AI? I need something that will have code on the left and visual result on the right like Dreamweaver has
Definitely! I have seen many projects simulate this. I’d start in Perplexity.ai to see what exists, and then ask Claude for a tactical plan to execute on the AI apps of your choice (I like bolt.new, lovable.dev, and cursor AI)
thanks for these videos Meg!

Thank you! Making more this week - any content requests?
@@spreadaioli@spreadaioli Maybe you can decode and teach us how to develop an app easily using AI (that can be listed on Product Hunt) So the end goal could be, we can use what we built in our own portfolio -> which can fetch a good job etc
