Members of Virginia State University's Percussion Ensemble performed "Guac is Extra" by John Herndon. Played entirely with sticks, this piece contains elements of groove, syncopation, and timbral contrast. This was the sixth piece of the evening.

Members of @vsuband held their Percussion Ensemble performance at Virginia State University's Davis Hall. Seven pieces were on the program. This was the last one. "Scuttlebutt" by Jim Casella relies heavily on half-time snare backbeat while exploring various syncopated rhythms and triplet figures in the style of electronic dance music. The students truly enjoyed performing this one!🧡💙🥁
